Mark Funkhouser, president of Funkhouser & Associates

Mark Funkhouser is a municipal finance expert who has spent decades in government service. As the mayor of Kansas City, Missouri, during the Great Recession, Funkhouser made the tough choices to put his city on the path to fiscal sustainability. That experience, his long tenure as an auditor and his most recent post as the publisher of Governing magazine have made him a trusted and credible advisor to government officials across the country. Funkhouser also is the founder of the International Center for Performance Auditing (ICPA) and a founding member of the Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA). He has dedicated much of his career, research and writing to advancing the public sector performance auditing profession and strengthening its real-world impact. Funkhouser holds a master’s degree in social work from West Virginia University, an M.B.A. from Tennessee State University, and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in public administration and urban sociology from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.

Abhi Nemani, senior vice president of product strategy of Euna Solutions

Abhi Nemani is a government technology entrepreneur, scholar, and public servant — founding, building, and leading many GovTech institutions over the last 15 years including Code for America, EthosLabs, Sacramento’s Innovation & Growth Fund, and the Mayor of Los Angeles’ Office of Data. As senior vice president of product strategy at Euna Solutions, Nemani supports the growth of Euna’s portfolio of public administration and financial products to better serve its growing network of 3,000+ public sector organizations across North America. Previously, Nemani served as the inaugural chief data officer for City of Los Angeles and the chief innovation officer for Sacramento, and he has lectured on government technology at the University of Chicago and the World Bank and is a Visiting Scholar at the Rose Institute of State and Local Government.
