About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Sidus Space LizzieSat™-3 to Launch March 14, 2025, with Next Generation AI-Driven Space-to-Space Data Relay

This mission marks the third launch in 12 months, enhancing Sidus Space’s AI-powered data solutions

Liftoff of the Sidus Space (NASDAQ: SIDU) (the “Company” or “Sidus”), an innovative, agile space mission enabler, LizzieSat™-3 is targeted for a launch window that opens today, March 14, 2024 at 11:39 PM PDT. The satellite will launch as part of the Transporter-13 rideshare mission with SpaceX from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Live mission updates will be available on X (formerly Twitter) @SpaceX.

LizzieSat™-3 is the latest addition to Sidus Space’s growing constellation, designed to deliver near real-time, AI-powered intelligence from Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Equipped with multiple state-of-the-art sensors and technologies, including advanced cameras and radio frequency (RF) sensors, the satellite will leverage Sidus’ proprietary Orlaith AI Platform™ to process data directly on orbit, providing rapid asset detection, identification and classification.

Unlike traditional satellite intelligence systems that rely on post-mission data processing, LizzieSat™-3 enables near real-time insights through onboard AI processing. With high revisit rates, low-latency data transmission and automated decision-making capabilities, this launch marks a significant step in advancing AI-driven space solutions.

Advancing Space-Based AI with Sidus Orlaith™

As a leader in space technology, rapid satellite manufacturing and AI-powered space-based solutions, Sidus Orlaith™ enables onboard processing, mission updates in orbit and rapid, direct-to-user data relay. This proprietary advanced edge-processing ecosystem allows delivery of AI-driven analytics directly from space with significantly reduced latency for mission-critical applications.

A Milestone in Sidus Space’s Growth

LizzieSat™-3 marks Sidus’ third satellite launch in 12 months, reinforcing the company’s role as a leader in space technology, rapid satellite manufacturing and AI-powered space-based intelligence. With each launch, Sidus expands its capacity to provide enhanced data collection, improved revisit rates and near real-time insights for government, defense, intelligence, and commercial customers.

“This launch highlights Sidus’ agility and innovation, as we continue to deploy AI-powered satellites that transform how data is processed and delivered from space,” said Carol Craig, CEO of Sidus Space. “Beyond near real-time analytics, LizzieSat™-3 also incorporates a space-to-space data relay module, enabling rapid, direct-to-user data transfer for time-sensitive missions.”

With LizzieSat™-3, Sidus Space continues to redefine space-based intelligence, unlocking new possibilities for AI-driven decision-making from orbit.
