About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Domo Unveils New Features to Transform Development of Data Products

Enhanced organization, next-level design, and new Magic ETL innovations make intelligent decision-making simple and intuitive

Domopalooza 2025 – Today, Domo (Nasdaq: DOMO) announced significant platform enhancements that revolutionize how organizations create, organize, and interact with data products. These innovations enable companies to streamline collaboration, accelerate decision-making, and transform data insights into actionable business outcomes while significantly reducing the time teams spend searching for content.

"We're not just helping customers view their data—we're enabling them to have meaningful interactions with it," said Ben Schein, senior vice president of product at Domo. "These updates are some of the most requested features from customers and reflect our commitment to turning data into decisions, insights, and action. By combining the power of intuitive design, high- and low-code customization, and optimized efficiency and organization, we're giving teams the tools to create data products that engage and drive real business outcomes."

In addition to unveiling Domo Agent Catalyst, Domo’s powerful agentic framework, some of the other platform enhancements announced at Domopalooza 2025: The AI and Data Conference, include:

  • Table Elements – New drag-and-drop features for app creation allow users to design dynamic, interactive visualizations without code. These configurable components inside of Domo App Studio serve as building blocks for representing data in various formats such as card galleries, lists, and dynamic banners to organize data and identify trends. When combined with editable datasets and workflows, these components transform how teams explore, analyze, and present data to simplify workflows and boost efficiency.
  • Magic ETL Enhancements – Domo’s award-winning extract, transform, and load (ETL) solution now gives data engineers and analysts access to the SQL Action. This enables greater control over data, along with Column Search for finding columns within tiles, and undo/redo functionality with action history. New tile sections, sticky notes, and configurable gridlines all further enhance organization and efficiency within Magic ETL.
  • New Navigation – The updated platform navigation makes it easier to organize, prioritize, and personalize Domo. It includes personalized pins, recent files, and a redesigned home icon that brings together favorites in an intuitive interface. Users can customize their navigation experience with drag-and-drop capabilities and AI-driven pin recommendations based on recent activity.
  • Report Builder – This new tool in App Studio enables the creation and distribution of customized, branded reports to specific audiences with tailored views, interactive links, and scheduled delivery options in a mobile-friendly format.
  • Workspaces – This feature brings together all of Domo’s content types—Apps, Dashboards, Cards, DataSets, DataFlows, and more—into a single, collaborative experience. Users can organize content into departments, projects, or specific tasks with new folder capabilities, pinning options, and powerful search functionality, making it easier than ever to find relevant content quickly.

“ISG Research defines data products as the outcome of data initiatives developed with product thinking, delivered as reusable assets that can be discovered, and consumed by others on a self-service basis,” said Matt Aslett, Director of Research, Analytics and Data, ISG Software Research. “The updates to the Domo platform help bring together data owners and consumers with processes and safeguards in place to build data products that drive accurate decisions and action. ISG asserts that by 2027, more than 3 in 5 enterprises will adopt technologies to facilitate the delivery of data as a product as they adapt their cultural and organizational approaches to domain-based data ownership.”
