About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

eClinicalWorks Launches Integrated Solution on PointClickCare Marketplace to Streamline Data Exchange with Skilled Nursing Facilities

Revolutionizing data exchange between primary care and long-term and post-acute-care (LTPAC) settings

eClinicalWorks®, the leader in the cloud-based ambulatory EHR market, announced the strategic integration with PointClickCare, a leading healthcare technology platform enabling meaningful care collaboration and real‐time patient insights. With this integration, eClinicalWorks can connect and exchange data with PointClickCare applications in long-term and post-acute care (LTPAC) settings to support remote and bedside physician encounters.

The integration will enable real-time data exchange between eClinicalWorks and PointClickCare, streamlining care delivery in LTPAC facilities. More than 180,000 doctors, nurse practitioners, and 1 million medical professionals worldwide depend on eClinicalWorks for industry-leading solutions, including practice management, value-based care, revenue cycle management, patient engagement, and more. The solution is now available on the PointClickCare Marketplace and can be enabled for any eClinicalWorks customer on a compatible version.

“This integration is particularly exciting for us, as one of our biggest operational challenges has been manually uploading notes from eClinicalWorks into PointClickCare,” said Dr. Jon Manzer, CEO at American Medical Administrators. “The volume of work required for this process has led to significant manual oversight and inefficiencies across the 40+ LTC facilities we manage in Missouri and Kansas. The announcement of the direct integration was a game-changer for us, and I immediately expressed our interest in being part of the pilot project as we strongly believe it will further enhance our ability to deliver high-quality care efficiently.”

Through the API-based integration between eClinicalWorks and PointClickCare, real-time information exchange capabilities have been developed, including instrumental features like linking PointClickCare organizations and enabling facilities after provider authentication from the new product activation module of eClinicalWorks; pulling demographics information from PointClickCare into the eClinicalWorks rounding list module and automated transfer of completed Progress Notes from eClinicalWorks to PointClickCare.

“Our Marketplace Partners provide world-class technology and share our deep commitment to ensuring our customers have access to the most powerful, efficient, and effective solutions,” said Mike Boesveld, Director, Marketplace Strategy, PointClickCare. “We are excited to integrate with eClinicalWorks to jointly help our mutual clients manage the complex challenges of long-term and post-acute care.”

"Through our strategic integration with PointClickCare, eClinicalWorks is helping revolutionize long-term post-acute care by enabling seamless, real-time data exchange," said Girish Navani, CEO of eClinicalWorks. "This collaboration will greatly enhance care delivery efficiency across LTPAC facilities, which are relied upon by healthcare professionals nationwide. In essence, we're reducing manual workload and transforming how patient data is managed, marking a significant stride in healthcare innovation within the LTPAC space."
