About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Guardian Pharmacy Services Opens New Columbus, Ohio, Location, Strengthening Long-Term Care Presence in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia

Guardian Pharmacy Services, Inc. (NYSE: GRDN), one of the nation’s largest and most innovative long-term care (LTC) pharmacy services companies, and Mullaney’s Pharmacy, a Guardian Pharmacy member based in Cincinnati, today announced the opening of a new pharmacy in Columbus, Ohio. Operating as Guardian Pharmacy of Ohio, the new location – together with the Cincinnati pharmacy – will strengthen Guardian’s presence in the region and allow it to provide even better service to residents in assisted living, skilled nursing and behavioral health communities as well as individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Ohio, northern and central Kentucky, and western West Virginia.

Since joining Guardian in 2020, Mullaney’s Pharmacy has experienced substantial business growth, tripling the number of residents served in less than five years. The addition of Guardian Pharmacy of Ohio will enhance Mullaney’s capabilities, enabling faster delivery times and greater access to hands-on medication management to meet the growing demand from LTC communities and residents.

“As a third-generation pharmacist leading the business my grandfather founded, I’ve seen firsthand how LTC pharmacies can make a difference in the lives of the residents and communities we serve,” said Tom Mullaney, RPh, president of Mullaney’s Pharmacy and Guardian Pharmacy of Ohio. “The support of our customers has fueled our growth and made it possible to open the Columbus pharmacy. This marks a significant milestone for us and enhances our ability to serve LTC communities more efficiently while delivering the same high-quality care, expertise and service they know and trust.”

The 5,600-square-foot Columbus facility will house state-of-the-art technology and automation, as well as a training center to provide in-service and clinical instruction courses for community staff and pharmacy employees. Mullaney, together with Director of Operations Troy Stinson, will oversee operations at Guardian Pharmacy of Ohio alongside Joshua Heiden, pharmacist-in-charge.

As part of the Guardian Pharmacy Services family, the Ohio pharmacies benefit from the company’s local management business model, which enables the local pharmacy teams to focus on customer service and the specialized needs of the communities and residents they serve, while Guardian’s centralized Corporate Support Team assists with the many complex behind-the-scenes business functions, including data analytics, HR, IT, payor relations, national sales and more.

“With its strategic location in Columbus, Guardian Pharmacy of Ohio allows Tom and his team to provide even more responsive, local support to the LTC communities and their residents,” said Fred Burke, president and CEO of Guardian Pharmacy Services. “This new pharmacy is a testament to their leadership and commitment to exceptional care, and we’re proud to support their continued success and growth in the region.”

Founded in 2004, Guardian Pharmacy Services has expanded from a single location to 51 pharmacies serving 38 states. This growth has been fueled by a balanced strategy of organic expansion, greenfield startups, and acquisitions, positioning the company for continued success in a rapidly evolving market.
