About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

ISG to Assess AWS Ecosystem Partners

Upcoming ISG Provider Lens™ reports will evaluate AWS cloud platform partners’ ability to leverage the platform to support AI adoption and develop industry-specific solutions

Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a global AI-centered technology research and advisory firm, has launched a research study examining service providers enabling AI adoption and delivering innovative, industry-specific solutions for enterprises using the AWS cloud platform.

The study results will be published in a series of comprehensive ISG Provider Lens™ reports, called AWS Ecosystem Partners, scheduled to be released in September 2025. The reports will cover AWS partners committed to providing the foundational resources necessary for high-performance computing and scalable applications.

Enterprise buyers will be able to use information from the reports to evaluate their current vendor relationships, potential new engagements and available offerings, while ISG advisors use the information to recommend providers to the firm’s buy-side clients.

The AWS cloud platform enables partners that specialize in data-intensive workloads and cloud-native deployment to address customer needs for data-driven decision-making. AWS has strengthened its relationships with AI innovators by introducing Nova foundation models and agentic AI builder services, enabling partners to deliver AI-powered solutions across industries.

AWS is also enabling its partners to meet customer demands for data security by introducing new specializations for building Zero Trust and compliance solutions. These help customers meet stringent regulatory requirements, and underscore AWS’ commitment to delivering secure and compliant cloud environments globally.

“The evolution toward sovereign cloud offerings is crucial for organizations operating in regions with strict data protection laws and for firms in highly regulated industries such as defense,” said Aman Munglani, director and principal analyst, ISG Provider Lens Research. “AWS is expanding incentives, including its Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) program, to amplify partners’ efforts to accelerate cloud modernization.”

ISG has distributed surveys to more than 350 AWS partners. Working in collaboration with ISG’s global advisors, the research team will produce five quadrants representing the digital services the typical enterprise is buying based on ISG’s experience working with its clients. The five quadrants are:

  • AWS Professional Services, evaluating providers offering robust suites of consulting and migration services to guide and support businesses through their AWS cloud journeys. These services are tailored to meet a diverse array of business and IT needs including business and technology consulting, migration, modernization, cloud strategy development, business case development and support for sustainability, compliance, governance and risk management.
  • AWS Managed Services, assessing providers of services that encompass orchestrating, provisioning, monitoring, managing and optimizing the operation of customers’ public cloud and multicloud environments. Providers typically use developed or licensed cloud management platforms and tools to most effectively automate capacity utilization and cost management in the most transparent way possible.
  • AWS Enterprise Data Modernization and AI Services, studying service providers’ capabilities across four essential domains: enterprise data ecosystem, insights and decision making, agentic AI and generative AI (GenAI), and customized ML solutions. These AI solutions incorporate AWS platforms such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q, Titan and Nova.
  • AWS SAP Workloads, evaluating service providers that enable the provisioning and operation of SAP HANA and other platforms, along with their central management, on AWS infrastructure. Service providers in this quadrant also leverage AWS for RISE with SAP, which is gaining traction among enterprises as they adapt their digital strategies toward cloud-first development and deployment.
  • AWS Brazil Public Sector – Technology Services, assessing providers that partner with AWS to develop, enable and deliver the capabilities required by Brazil’s public sector entities. Providers in this space are best suited to helping public sector agencies address their many challenges while modernizing their environments, which often involve more restrictive procurement, staffing and operating system management requirements than the typical commercial enterprise.

Geographically focused reports from the study will cover the global AWS partner ecosystem and examine products and services available in the U.S., the U.K., Germany, Brazil, Mexico, and the Asia Pacific region. ISG analysts Frank Heuer (Germany), Ashwin Gaidhani and Tapati Bandopadhyay (U.S.), Mark Purdy (U.K.), Srinivasan PN (Asia Pacific) and Adriana Frantz (Brazil and Mexico) will serve as lead authors of the reports.

A list of identified providers and vendors and further details on the study are available in this digital brochure. Companies not listed as AWS ecosystem partners can contact ISG and ask to be included in the study.

All 2025 ISG Provider Lens™ evaluations feature expanded customer experience (CX) data that measures actual enterprise experience with specific provider services and solutions, based on ISG’s continuous CX research. Enterprise customers wishing to share their experience about a specific provider or vendor are invited to complete this online survey. Participants will receive a copy of this report in return for their feedback.
