About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

TradeStation Cares Expands Financial Literacy Efforts with Community Initiatives

TradeStation Cares champions financial empowerment through Florida Securities Dealers Association sponsorship, the Moonshot Awards, Junior Achievement donations, and a virtual trading masterclass

TradeStation Group, Inc. ("TradeStation"), a South Florida-based company whose subsidiary, TradeStation Securities, Inc. (“TradeStation Securities”), provides award-winning, self-clearing online brokerage services for trading stocks, options, futures, and futures options, reinforced its commitment to financial education during April’s Financial Literacy Month through sponsorships, donations, and community engagement efforts by it and its subsidiaries.

These initiatives were led by the TradeStation Cares Committee, a diverse team of TradeStation Group-level and subsidiary employees whose mission is to expand the concept of community by improving financial literacy and the overall health and well-being of the residents in communities where TradeStation maintains a physical or remote presence.

“Financial literacy is a critical component of economic empowerment, and, at TradeStation, we are committed to equipping individuals with tools to navigate financial markets,” said Jessica Pione, Chief Human Resources Officer of TradeStation. “It’s inspiring to see our employees actively engaging with the community—whether through sponsorships, donations, or volunteering—to help break down barriers to financial education and create greater accessibility for all.”

Below is a list of events that TradeStation or its subsidiaries sponsored, participated in and supported this April:

FSDA Industry Outreach Program

On April 10, TradeStation contributed to the FSDA Industry Outreach Program, “2025: Riding the Waves of Possibility,” as a Diamond Sponsor in Boca Raton, Florida, marking its second consecutive year of sponsorship. The contribution supports admission-free access for members and non-members to timely education and networking amongst industry leaders and regulators.

TradeStation Securities remains a long-standing FSDA member and TradeStation Group an event sponsor, demonstrating TradeStation’s commitment to advancing the financial literacy of Florida residents. Since 1933, FSDA has served as the voice of the securities industry in the state, advocating for the industry and offering educational opportunities to both its members and Florida's investing public.

Master Class: Demystifying the Financial Markets

On April 17, in collaboration with the 2024 Moonshot Award recipient, TradeStation Securities hosted and sponsored a free virtual Master Class for approximately 80 young professionals in the Sant La Fellows program. In this special edition of TradeStation Securities’ regular Master Class series, which highlights advanced trading strategies and techniques, these participants gained valuable insights into self-directed trading and financial markets to help empower a new generation of traders.

“Access to financial literacy education is crucial for our community’s economic empowerment,” said Gepsie Metellus, Executive Director of Sant La, Haitian Neighborhood Center. “Many of our members have been underserved when it comes to learning about self-directed trading and investment opportunities. By collaborating with TradeStation Securities, we are equipping young professionals with the tools and resources to confidently take control of their future investments.”

In 2024, TradeStation was honored to serve as the Financial Literacy Innovation Sponsor at the Moonshot Awards, hosted by Lab22c. This award recognizes organizations that are making a meaningful impact on financial literacy in South Florida. The winner of the 2024 Moonshot Award, Sant La Neighborhood Center, received a $5,000 grant from TradeStation to further their financial education initiatives and community outreach programs for the Haitian and Haitian American community.

Junior Achievement Donations

In addition, TradeStation is supporting financial literacy initiatives for students by donating $500 to three Junior Achievement locations: South Florida, Greater Miami, and Chicago. Junior Achievement reaches over 4.4 million students nationwide each year, equipping them with essential lessons in financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship—especially in underserved communities. In South Florida, the donations directly support the Stock Market Challenge, a multi-week simulated trading competition where high school students gain hands-on experience with market dynamics and investing strategies using virtual funds. At the end of the challenge, the team with the simulated stock portfolio with the highest net worth wins.
