About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Domo Named a Strong Performer in Business Intelligence (BI) Platforms Report by Independent Research Firm

Domo (Nasdaq: DOMO) today announced that Forrester Research has named the company a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave™: Business Intelligence (BI) Platforms, Q2 2025 authored by vice president and principal analyst Boris Evelson and published on April 10, 2025.

Forrester Research analyzed and scored the nine most significant BI platform providers across 33 criteria in this report.

“For the past 20 years, Forrester has consistently encountered predictions from analysts and vendors claiming that ‘BI is dead.’ These predictions have repeatedly been proven incorrect. Even now, generative AI (genAI) is not replacing business intelligence (BI); instead, it’s leveling the playing field as all BI vendors integrate generative and agentic AI capabilities based on the same large language models (LLMs). BI continues to be a crucial enabler in the data-to-decisions process, which is essential for data-driven enterprises,” noted Forrester1 in the report.

Forrester1 continued, “Domo is attractive for clients looking for a cloud-native full-stack platform, including those without a current modern cloud-native data lakehouse.”

"For us, Domo’s recognition as a Strong Performer in the Q2 2025 Forrester Wave™ for BI Platforms showcases how we’re delivering on our mission to provide a fully integrated platform with robust capabilities for data management, governance, AI, and analytics," said Josh James, founder and CEO, Domo. “Business Intelligence has evolved significantly, with generative and agentic AI at the forefront of this shift. Domo was built for this AI moment. From data integration to AI-powered automation, Domo enables customers with the unified platform they need to streamline their data ecosystem and helps them build the data products that innovate, automate, and deliver true value for the business.”

Domo received a 5.0, the highest score possible, in 11 criteria including: augmented BI/advanced analytics, innovation, pricing flexibility and transparency, full data stack, genAI architecture, genAI NLQ accuracy, no-code integration with business apps, lineage and explainability, usage analytics, personalization, and direct query vs ingest.
