AM Best to Deliver Multiple Presentations and Exhibit at RIMS’ 2025 RISKWORLD Conference

AM Best will speak and participate at RISKWORLD—the RIMS 2025 Annual Conference and Exhibition—with sessions that will focus on alternative risk transfer, corporate sustainability/ESG, artificial intelligence and cyber risk. The risk management event takes place May 4–7, 2025, at the McCormick Place Convention Center, in Chicago, IL.

On May 5, at 10:10 a.m. CDT, Antonietta Iachetta, associate director, AM Best, will give a presentation titled, “Do We Have a Reinsurance Pricing Détente?” The session examines the material fluctuations in reinsurance pricing and returns over the past three years and what lies ahead. Iachetta is a member of the Global Reinsurance and Insurance-Linked Securities team.

Kourtnie Beckwith, senior financial analyst, AM Best, also will give a presentation on May 5. Her session, titled, “Captive vs. Commercial Market – A Critical Look at Benchmarking Performance,” will compare the captive and commercial insurance markets, and identify key benchmarks that can be used in gain insight into industry best practices. Beckwith will also review the kinds of risks that are currently placed in the captive market and how this has changed over time. The presentation is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. CDT. Beckwith is responsible for the analysis and financial ratings of captive insurers, monoline cyber insurance companies and title organizations in the United States.

Sridhar Manyem, senior director, AM Best, will deliver a pair of presentations at the conference. The first titled, “State of the Directors’ and Officers’ Liability Market,” will be held on May 6, at 11:30 a.m. CDT, and will examine trends in coverage and the insurance industry’s attitude toward underwriting, pricing and limits. Manyem also will talk about key issues such as cannabis legalization, cyber issues and the persistent growth of social inflation.

On May 7, Manyem will discuss the increase in secondary perils and the implication for insurers. The presentation, titled, “Secondary Perils: A Primary Issue,” will study the impacts on insurer balance sheet strength, operating performance, business profile and enterprise risk management from event such as hail, wildfires and tornadoes. The presentation will take place at 9:30 a.m. CDT. Manyem is the head of AM Best’s industry research team and oversees publishing of the company’s perspectives on topical issues.

In addition, AM Best will exhibit at booth No. 1113 at the conference. Visitors to the AM Best booth can learn about the rating agency, its role in the insurance industry and the resources it offers to insurance professionals, including Best’s Credit Ratings, insurance data and analysis resources and financial data products, and Best’s Performance Assessment for Delegated Underwriting Authority Enterprises (DUAEs).
