About Cabling Installation & Maintenance:

Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals.

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on:

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

TNS to Unveil Voice Transit + at CCA 2025 Mobile Carriers Show

TNS’ bundled voice solution is designed to simplify FCC compliance with 988 and N11 mandates while driving cost-effective network transformation

Transaction Network Services (TNS), a leading provider of telecommunication services and solutions, will showcase its new TNS Voice Transit + solution at the CCA 2025 Mobile Carriers Show (MCS 2025), which takes place April 14-16, 2025.

TNS Voice Transit + builds on TNS’ foundational Voice Transit solution by offering service providers a platform to help reduce costs, consolidate vendors and minimize their operational footprint while addressing critical issues such as the FCC’s 988 and N11 mandates.

Wireless carriers attending MCS 2025 will be able to experience how TNS’ comprehensive turnkey voice solution can enable US carriers to rapidly and cost-effectively meet FCC georouting mandates for all wireless calls to the 988 Lifeline by December 2026.

“Voice Transit + delivers a scalable global connectivity framework that can lower carriers’ total cost of ownership (TCO) by eliminating the complexity of managing multiple offerings from different service providers,” said Brad Zerr, TNS Director of Product Management. “The ability to easily add solution sets as part of a single, comprehensive offering is critical for mandates such as 988 and will play a key role in helping carriers address the continual cost increases and complexity pressures they face."

Voice Transit + delivers several powerful capabilities to carriers at every stage of their modernization journey:

  • Rapidly addresses critical industry and business requirements. With Voice Transit +, carriers can meet FCC mandates for 988 and N11 by solving longstanding georouting challenges by routing calls based on the phone’s physical location instead of the phone number's area code to ensure proper connections to the nearest crisis center. The solution also enables N11 calls to be properly redirected while roaming, for example S8 Home Routing (S8HR).
  • Helps reduce operational costs and increase revenues. The solution facilitates the complete removal of legacy TDM circuits and transitions carriers to a more modern IP network. Carriers can easily generate revenue and reduce costs through the volume and reach of TNS’ solution sets.
  • Single vendor solution performs all telco services. Voice Transit + is a fully managed offering that enables carriers to easily access TNS solution sets to meet current and future needs, including AI Voice Screening, TNS Enterprise Authentication and Spoof Protection, TNS Call Guardian, and TLR Signaling and SIP Trunking.

At MCS 2025, TNS will highlight how Voice Transit + enhances emergency call routing efficiency, can simplify compliance and help reduce operational costs. For more information about TNS and its Voice Transit + solution, visit https://tnsi.com/solutions/communications/numbering-routing/.
