About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Domo’s Data Never Sleeps Infographic Wins 2025 Communicator Award

Domo (Nasdaq: DOMO) today announced that its annual “Data Never Sleeps” infographic has been selected as a winner in the Annual Communicator Awards announced by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA) for the third consecutive year.

With thousands of entries received from across the United States and around the globe, The Communicator Awards remains one of the largest and most competitive programs honoring excellence in marketing, communication, and creative work.

Domo’s “Data Never Sleeps” has tracked the world’s data usage for over ten years–minute by minute–highlighting the incredible amount of data that users consume on the internet, as well as how that has changed over time. Data Never Sleeps 12.0 infographic offered an overview of the immense volume of data generated every minute on the internet, showing how quickly data changes, as technology continues to advance and AI becomes increasingly common for both personal and professional use.

“Data is a central part of our lives—it supports decisions, interactions, and innovations in our evolving world,” said Ben Schein, SVP of Product at Domo. “Domo’s ‘Data Never Sleeps’ helps put the vast amount of data on the internet into perspective. Over the past decade, this infographic has driven billions of media impressions and continues to draw millions to Domo channels, highlighting the often unseen significance of data’s influence.”

Key stats from “Data Never Sleeps 12.0” report included:

  • Media consumption grows: Every 60 seconds, 138.9M reels are viewed on Facebook and Instagram, YouTube videos received over 3.4M views, and Netflix subscribers streamed over 362K hours of content.
  • Working overtime: Microsoft Teams recorded 229 million meeting minutes, Slack users sent 1.04 million messages, and 251.1M emails were sent every minute.
  • Consumer frenzy: Cyber Week shoppers spent over $43.6M globally each minute on purchases

“In a year where our theme was ‘Communication is Connection,’ it was moving to see how this idea came to life in the work,” said AIVA Managing Director Lauren Angeloni. “Whether centered around emotionally resonant storytelling or Marketing Effectiveness case studies, the entries reflected the power of communication to bridge gaps between people, platforms, and perspectives. We’re proud to celebrate such a dynamic group of Honorees. And we’re deeply grateful to our Jurors, who, as always, brought care, curiosity, and deep insight to every review.”
