Jon Lang Joins APCO as Firm’s Lead for Economic Security Policy, Further Boosting Public Affairs and Geopolitical Risk Advisory Expertise in D.C.

 

Jonathan Lang—an industry leader in geopolitical risk consulting working at the nexus of international business, politics and trade for multiple presidential administrations, including as director for international economic affairs at the White House National Economic Council and National Security Council during President Trump’s first term—joined APCO in Washington, D.C., as senior director and head of economic security policy.

In this role, Lang will further scale APCO’s global public affairs capability with a focus on advisory services around global economic security, trade, export controls, supply chains and industrial strategy.

Lang has provided corporate strategy and advice to a diverse range of clients in the financial, industrial, technology, semiconductor, automotive, aviation, retail, international infrastructure, freight logistics and medical device sectors. Lang works closely with clients in asset management, global government affairs, supply chain operations and corporate strategy spaces.

Lang is frequently cited in or provides live commentary on topics including trade policy, export controls, U.S.-China relations and global supply chains for print and on-air media outlets including CNN, the BBC, Politico, the Financial Times and others.
