About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Vrbo Launches New Promotions Suite Designed to Boost Business Growth for Hosts

New pricing tools capture bookings and target diverse traveler segments

Vrbo®, part of Expedia Group, today announced the launch of its new promotions suite, empowering hosts to create tailored promotions that cater to a wide range of traveler segments—from early planners and last-minute bookers to mobile users and members of Expedia Group’s travel rewards programs. Rolling out globally across Vrbo and its sister platforms, including Abritel®, FeWo-Direkt®, Stayz®, Bookabach® and eligible vacation rental listings on Expedia®, this platform-wide initiative is a significant milestone in unlocking strategic tools for hosts in today’s competitive short-term rental market.

According to Expedia Group’s 2025 Traveler Value Index, travelers ranked price as the most important factor when booking a vacation rental. Competitive pricing is also critical for short-term rental hosts, with nearly a quarter of hosts citing it as a top feature that makes their rental stand out1. These new tools enhance visibility, reduce booking risk, and improve calendar occupancy, enabling flexibility for Vrbo hosts to meet real-time demand while maximizing revenue potential.

Available Now:

  • Early booking promotions: keep calendars full by securing bookings 60 days or more in advance, locking in longer stays and higher-value reservations.
  • Last minute promotions: reduce the risk of unsold nights and attract last-minute planners who are ready to book within 0-30 days prior to check-in.

Both last minute and early booking discounts will have dedicated search filters on the Vrbo site and app, allowing travelers to easily search for properties offering promotions.

Coming Soon:

  • Members Only Deals: attract 168 million travelers enrolled in Expedia Group’s travel rewards programs around the world, which represent Vrbo’s most trusted and reliable travelers – those who book earlier, stay longer, and spend more.
  • Mobile promotions: meet travelers where they’re commonly searching and booking – on mobile browsers or via the Vrbo app.
  • Advanced settings for new listing promotions: provide additional capabilities for Vrbo’s existing new listing offering. The evolved product is available for the first 90 days after a property goes live to deliver quick bookings after onboarding.

Setting up promotions is easy with the ability to customize booking windows, discount rates and more, aligning with hosts’ specific needs and revenue goals. Across all promotion types, hosts benefit from enhanced listing visibility through improved sort order, special badging, promotion filters, and inclusion in Vrbo’s extensive marketing campaigns—from email and app placements to paid media and merchandising.

“Promotions are a win-win, allowing our travelers to get better value while giving partners the ability to target the travelers they want,” says Tim Rosolio, Vice President, Vacation Rental Partnerships at Expedia Group. “Promotional capabilities are among the top requests we get from our partners and I’m excited to deliver on our commitment to providing the right tools they need to thrive in our marketplace.”

All partners will be eligible to activate promotions. Platform partners managing properties directly via the Vrbo Dashboard can access promotions now. Vrbo will also pilot its Promotions API with select connectivity providers this year, allowing connected partners to access promotions with eligible software providers.
