About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Modivcare Celebrates Over a Decade of Serving Suffolk Community Member

NEMT broker honors a local patient after 10+ years of rides to medical appointments

Modivcare Inc. (the “Company” or “Modivcare”) (Nasdaq: MODV), a technology-enabled healthcare services company that provides a platform of integrated supportive care solutions focused on improving health outcomes, is proud to celebrate its long-lasting relationship with Darryl Iman, a Suffolk, VA dialysis patient, and his sister-in-law and caregiver, Beth Iman.

In 2014, Darryl began dialysis due to chronic kidney disease. As his caregiver, Beth worked diligently to coordinate the necessary services for Darryl to receive care. Unable to always drive him to his appointments because of her full-time job, Beth connected with Modivcare’s Virginia team to coordinate non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) for Darryl. Now, Modivcare has helped Darryl get to his appointments smoothly for over ten years.

“Modivcare’s incredible team goes above and beyond to ensure Darryl makes it to his appointments three times a week and saves me hours of work that I previously would take on to coordinate his rides,” said Beth. “Darryl’s life depends on him getting to his dialysis appointments, and without the consistent support from Modivcare, Darryl might not be here today. The drivers that Modivcare has connected us with are kind, caring and dependable, and directly enable Darryl to maintain a high quality of life and remain well-adjusted during his treatment.”

“Since its inception, Modivcare has strived to remove barriers to care for patients, and we’re proud to offer reliable and dependable rides so Darryl can access his life-saving care,” said Mary Eaglesfield, Modivcare’s Senior Director of Transportation, Virginia. “Collaborating with Beth over the last decade to coordinate Darryl’s transportation to his appointments has been so rewarding, and we’re looking forward to continuing our relationship with both her and Darryl.”

Modivcare serves over 2,000 dialysis patients in Virginia and has grown its NEMT provider network to more than 530 local providers across the state, most of these partners are minority- and women-owned small business providers. Collectively, they employ more than 3,700 compliant, contracted drivers and operate 2,719 credentialed vehicles. With over 270 local teammates and deep knowledge of Virginia’s diverse and expansive geography, Modivcare reliably coordinates transportation to ensure members can access the care they need—wherever they are.
