About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

ACI Worldwide Named to CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies and TIME’s America’s Best Mid-Size Companies 2025 Lists

ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW), an original innovator in global payments technology, today announced that it was named one of CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2025 and one of TIME’s America’s Best Mid-Size Companies 2025.

These prestigious awards are presented in partnership with Statista Inc., the leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider that provides statistics, relevant business data, and various market and consumer studies and surveys. Statista publishes hundreds of worldwide industry rankings and company listings with high-profile media partners.

ACI appears on TIME’s America’s Best Mid-Size Companies list for the first time this year. Winners were identified based on three dimensions:

  • Employee Satisfaction: Based on survey data from approximately 217,000 employees at U.S. companies over the past three years. The results reflect employee recommendations and evaluations across key areas such as company image, atmosphere, working conditions, salary, workplace environment and equality.
  • Revenue Growth: Based on three years of data from the Statista revenue database. Companies with $100 million to $10 billion in revenue (as of 2023 or 2024) and consistent positive growth were evaluated using both relative and absolute metrics.
  • Sustainability Transparency (ESG): Assessed using ESG data from the Statista database and targeted research across standardized KPIs. The environmental dimension included 2023 carbon emissions intensity, reduction since 2021 and CDP score. The social dimension covered the percentage of women on the board and the presence of a human rights policy. The governance dimension evaluated whether companies published a CSR report aligned with GRI standards and maintained anti-corruption or compliance guidelines.

This is the second consecutive year that ACI Worldwide has been named to CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies list, which is based on the analysis and weighting of general and segment-specific KPIs, such as Payments, Neobanking, Alternative Financing, Wealth Technology, Digital Assets, Enterprise Fintech and Insurtech. These segment-specific KPIs were derived from the following research methods:

  • Collection of Publicly Available Data Points: In-depth research into relevant KPIs for more than 2,000 eligible companies was conducted using publicly available sources such as annual reports, company websites, and media monitoring.
  • Open Online Application: More than 100 companies had the opportunity to be considered for the top list by submitting relevant KPIs which was announced and promoted via the CNBC website.

These awards highlight ACI’s critical role in powering the world’s payments ecosystem and its dedication to providing innovative, reliable technology that drives the global economy. ACI is not only shaping the future of payments but developing the infrastructure that facilitates fast, efficient and secure money movement for banks, merchants and billers — ultimately leading to tangible economic benefits for all.

“The entire ACI Worldwide team deserves credit for helping our company earn both of these awards,” said Thomas Warsop, president and chief executive officer of ACI Worldwide. “We are grateful for the recognition from CNBC and TIME, as these awards underscore our commitment to delivering best-in-class payment solutions to our customers and enabling money movement across the global financial ecosystem.”
