About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

CrashPlan to Highlight Cyber Resiliency and Data Protection Strategies at TechCon 365 Atlanta

Backup and Cyber Resiliency Market Authority to Share Expertise on Strengthening Security for Microsoft 365, Azure, and Beyond

CrashPlan, a leader in cyber-ready data resilience and governance, today announced its participation at TechCon 365 Atlanta, a premier regional conference dedicated to Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and AI, taking place August 11-15, 2025, at Georgia’s World Congress Center.

Organizations worldwide are increasingly facing ransomware threats, with more than two-thirds experiencing attacks. In response, CrashPlan’s presence at the event will provide attendees with expert-led demonstrations and actionable guidance on implementing rapid recovery and robust resiliency strategies tailored specifically for Microsoft environments.

The session, “Azure-centric Cyber Resiliency and Protection for Microsoft 365, Servers, and Endpoints,” will take place on Wednesday, August 13, from 3:15 pm – 3:35 pm at the Sponsor Stage, and Thursday, August 14, from 2:20 pm – 3:30 pm in room A316. The presentation will demonstrate how to enable zero and low-cost storage for protection, recovery, archiving, compliance, and content search. The live demonstrations with Azure will explore the following:

  • Granular, release independent restores for Microsoft 365 apps and file data surrounding Microsoft 365
  • How to use Microsoft OneDrive as an innovative, smart, free, and secure storage target
  • The options and benefits of public and private cloud storage
  • How to enable a complete turnkey data protection SaaS solution
  • The easy way to search across data within Microsoft 365 for E-discovery and compliance
  • Smart, tiered archiving for legacy data within Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Exchange
  • How to meet compliance and data sovereignty requirements

CrashPlan’s session at TechCon 365 Atlanta will be presented by Randy De Meno, VP of Business Development & Microsoft Practice at CrashPlan. Specifically, he will showcase CrashPlan’s Azure-centric cyber resiliency solutions, designed specifically for Microsoft 365, servers, and endpoints. In this role, De Meno leads the Microsoft Foundation partnership and alliances with presenting and demonstrating leading-edge technology that assists customers and partners within the Microsoft ecosystem. De Meno has over three decades of expertise in data management solutions and strategic technology partnerships, including leadership roles at Parablu and Commvault.

“We’re excited to showcase our solution at TechCon 365, where we will be underscoring CrashPlan’s role as a preferred Microsoft vendor committed to secure, scalable, and cost-effective data protection for Microsoft 365,” said De Meno. “Our SaaS platform, and its demonstration, complements Microsoft’s shared responsibility model by extending protection beyond standard retention periods, leveraging trusted Microsoft infrastructure to deliver rapid disaster recovery and robust cyber resiliency, enabling businesses to confidently focus on growth, not recovery.”

Conference attendees are invited to visit CrashPlan at Booth #7/8 for in-depth discussions on how to effectively secure data within Microsoft ecosystems. CrashPlan is sponsoring the upcoming TechCon 365 Dallas event (November 3-7, 2025) and Microsoft Ignite (November 18-21, 2025, in San Francisco).
