About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Underdog Makes C-Suite Hires, Embarking on Next Phase of Growth

New Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Financial Officer to drive continued expansion

Underdog, the fastest-growing sports company in the U.S., today announced the hiring of two C-Suite executives, Rishi Garg as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Kimberly Pointer Corbett as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). The appointments come as Underdog is expected to reach nearly $500 million in revenue in only its fifth year of operation and on the heels of the successful launch of a partnership with Crypto.com | Derivatives North America (CDNA), to make sports events contracts accessible to customers through Underdog. Garg and Pointer Corbett have driven growth at premier companies, including Twitter, Square, Zynga and Warner Brothers, and will be central to Underdog’s mission of driving growth by building authentic, lasting engagement with sports fans.

"Our formula to win is simple: invest in people and product, and we bring in leaders who know what it takes to build the type of company we want to be,” said Jeremy Levine, Founder and CEO of Underdog. “Throughout their careers, Rishi and Kimberly have done it, demonstrating the ability to build some of the most globally successful consumer brands. We have ambitious goals and we’re building the team to take us there.”

Underdog recently raised $70 million in Series C funding led by Spark Capital, which marked the sports gaming industry’s largest investment from a top-tier Silicon Valley venture capital firm and valued the company at more than $1.3 billion.

Rishi Garg, CFO

A product-first business leader and former entrepreneur, Garg joins Underdog’s leadership team to oversee the finance function as CFO. With more than 20 years of experience in investing, corporate development and strategy, and entrepreneurial leadership at cutting-edge brands like Twitter and Square, and nine years as a Partner leading the consumer practice at the Mayfield Fund, Garg will align Underdog’s product innovation and disruption with sound financial and corporate strategy as the company embarks on its next phase of growth.

“From day one at Underdog, I could feel that the energy here is different,” said Rishi Garg, Chief Financial Officer at Underdog. “After only 5 years, Underdog is growing fast and is beloved by fans. Right now, we have a pivotal opportunity to be a great consumer company and build the essential daily companion to the American sports fan, and I am excited to be a part of it.”

Kimberly Pointer Corbett, CMO

Pointer Corbett brings more than a decade of marketing leadership across mobile and console gaming to her new role as CMO at Underdog. Prior to Underdog, she served as SVP, Digital Publishing at Warner Bros. Games, where she led comprehensive publishing strategies spanning user acquisition, lifecycle, creative services, analytics, market intel and in app advertising to scale mobile and AAA game launches. She also held senior leadership positions at Zynga and Kabam where she built and executed data-driven marketing programs to scale six games and franchises that grew to be billion-dollar enterprises.

“Underdog has amazing talent and is positioned to be the biggest company in the space with what they’ve built for sports fans. The company has an unwavering focus on the fan experience and a one-of-a-kind media ecosystem that makes it a unique place,” said Kimberly Pointer Corbett, Chief Marketing Officer at Underdog. “I am thrilled to join the team, and I can’t wait to build on Underdog’s strong foundation to reach new heights.”

As the only company built on its own proprietary technology across fantasy sports and sports betting regulatory frameworks, and now the first and only sports prediction market exchange offered on a major sports gaming operator app, Underdog is poised for significant growth over the next year and beyond.
