About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Meal Ticket Announces CEO Transition

Sheryl Hoskins, former Upserve CEO, brings extensive restaurant industry and enterprise software experience to help lead next phase of growth

Meal Ticket, a leading software provider for the foodservice supply chain, today announced that Sheryl Hoskins will join the company as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Wink Jones, who has served as CEO since co-founding the company in 2011, will continue with Meal Ticket in an advisory capacity with Hoskins and the company board of directors to ensure a smooth transition.

Under Jones' leadership over the past 14 years, Meal Ticket has grown from a startup to a leading end-to-end business management solution for foodservice suppliers, distributors, and restaurants, processing over $40 billion in supply chain transactions annually. In 2020, the company acquired TrackMax, followed by a merger with MarketMan in 2021, positioning the company to support restaurant operators as well as food suppliers and distributors.

Hoskins brings more than 25 years of experience in the software industry and returns to the restaurant sector where she previously served as CEO of Upserve, a leading restaurant technology platform. She has extensive expertise in scaling enterprise software businesses, driving operational excellence, and building strong, effective teams. Most recently, Hoskins served as CEO of Litera, a global leader in legal technology solutions. Hoskins holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, an MBA in Marketing from Loyola of Chicago, and is a U.S. Army veteran.

"It has been an incredible privilege to lead and build Meal Ticket alongside our talented team and watch the company evolve into a market leader," said Wink Jones, co-founder of Meal Ticket. "I’m equally excited for our next phase of growth, as Sheryl's unique combination of restaurant industry expertise and track record scaling enterprise software businesses makes her an ideal leader for our next chapter."

"I am honored to join Meal Ticket at such an exciting time in the company's evolution," said Sheryl Hoskins, incoming CEO of Meal Ticket. "I'm thrilled to be returning to the restaurant industry and particularly excited about delivering value through technology to food suppliers, distributors, and restaurants who are the backbone of this ecosystem. The foodservice industry is ripe for AI-enabled tools that can help restaurant operators, distributors, and suppliers operate more efficiently and make better decisions through data-driven insights. Meal Ticket is well-positioned to contribute to this transformation, and I look forward to working with our team to accelerate innovation and growth."

The leadership transition comes as Meal Ticket continues to expand its comprehensive suite of SaaS tools that provides critical market data and insights, enabling clients to shift from legacy systems to more efficient and precise AI-driven solutions. The combined Meal Ticket and MarketMan platform now serves thousands of restaurants and distributors globally, facilitating more efficient interactions across the entire foodservice supply chain.

"We thank and congratulate Wink for his vision and commitment and are equally thrilled to welcome Sheryl as Meal Ticket's new CEO," said Tom Buiocchi, Chairman of the Board. "We look forward to supporting Sheryl and the entire team as they continue to drive AI-enabled innovation and strengthen their position in the foodservice supply chain market.”
