About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Bitwise Deepens Push Into Alpha Strategies and Derivatives With Hires of Two Veteran Portfolio Managers

Gordon Grant and Jonathan Man bring decades of combined experience managing crypto multi-strategy solutions and derivatives, strengthening Bitwise’s growing capabilities in alpha and private solutions.

Bitwise Asset Management, the global crypto asset manager with over $15B in client assets, today announced the recent appointment of two experienced portfolio managers to its expanding Alpha and Private Solutions teams. Gordon Grant joins as Portfolio Manager, Head of Derivatives, and Jonathan Man joins as Portfolio Manager, Multi-Strategy Solutions.

“Investors have long turned to Bitwise for beta exposure, and increasingly they’re asking us to help them access alpha and implement custom solutions," said Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley. "Today, in our Alpha and Private Solutions franchise, we support investors with a variety of strategies, including income generation through options overlays on large spot holdings, custom digital asset treasury management programs, onchain strategies, and multi-strategy solutions. We're excited to welcome Gordon and Jonathan to the team—two industry veterans who will help us push the boundaries of what active management in crypto can achieve.”

Jonathan Man will lead Bitwise’s Multi-Strategy Solutions. Mr. Man brings extensive experience in multi-manager crypto strategies and investment products, having most recently served as Head of Investment Products at LionSoul, where he launched and managed their Bitcoin Alpha Fund of Funds and Market Neutral Fund of Funds. He also founded Valmar Capital and served as its CIO after spending over 17 years on Wall Street at CIBC, where he traded CMBS, interest rates, and credit derivatives.

Gordon Grant will lead the company’s growing volatility trading and options overlay SMA business. Mr. Grant is a widely respected figure in the crypto derivatives industry, with extensive experience advising institutional and high-net-worth investors on utilizing options and complex derivatives to enhance returns and manage risk. Gordon was previously the Head of Sales and Trading at Genesis, when they were the largest crypto derivatives franchise in the industry, after a successful, nearly decade-long stint as a Portfolio Manager and Director of Derivatives at a large macro hedge fund.

Together, these hires strengthen Bitwise’s position as a leader in the industry and deepen clients’ access to crypto opportunities, with solutions now ranging from spot ETPs, index funds, and crypto equities to alpha, derivatives, and staking solutions.

Risks and Important Information

No Advice on Investment; Risk of Loss: Prior to making any investment decision, each investor must undertake its own independent examination and investigation, including the merits and risks involved in an investment, and must base its investment decision—including a determination whether the investment would be a suitable investment for the investor—on such examination and investigation.

Crypto assets are digital representations of value that function as a medium of exchange, a unit of account, or a store of value, but they do not have legal tender status. Crypto assets are sometimes exchanged for U.S. dollars or other currencies around the world, but they are not currently backed nor supported by any government or central bank. Their value is completely derived by market forces of supply and demand, and they are more volatile than traditional currencies, stocks, or bonds.

Trading in crypto assets comes with significant risks, including volatile market price swings or flash crashes, market manipulation, and cybersecurity risks and risk of losing principal or all of your investment. In addition, crypto asset markets and exchanges are not regulated with the same controls or customer protections available in equity, option, futures, or foreign exchange investing.

Crypto asset trading requires knowledge of crypto asset markets. In attempting to profit through crypto asset trading, you must compete with traders worldwide. You should have appropriate knowledge and experience before engaging in substantial crypto asset trading. Crypto asset trading can lead to large and immediate financial losses. Under certain market conditions, you may find it difficult or impossible to liquidate a position quickly at a reasonable price.
