About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Silicon Creations Announces 1000th Production FinFET Tapeout at TSMC and Immediate Availability of Full IP Library on TSMC N2 Technology

Milestone highlights long term collaboration with TSMC, robust customer support infrastructure, and leadership in advanced process nodes

Silicon Creations, a leading provider of precision IP for advanced SoC design, today announced its 1000th production FinFET tapeout at TSMC, alongside the immediate availability of a comprehensive library of IP on TSMC’s advanced N2P process node. The N2P offering includes a full suite of PLLs and clocking IP, such as free-running oscillators, crystal oscillators, low-jitter LVDS and CML buffers, and temperature sensors—ready for deployment today across a broad range of applications. The company’s N2P portfolio is already deployed in customer designs spanning AI, mobile, datacenter, blockchain, and high-speed interface applications.

Silicon Creations’ achievement of 1000 production FinFET tapeouts reflects deep expertise in chip development and unwavering commitment to customer success. Supporting such a high volume of successful tapeouts requires not only world-class IP, but also extensive design knowledge, thorough support, and close collaboration throughout the development cycle. From early-stage integration reviews to hands-on assistance, Silicon Creations has become a trusted partner for customers across the globe.

“Providing a full suite of N2 IP requires more than just robust designs — it requires deep knowledge of chip development, rapid and responsive support, and tight customer collaboration,” said Darek Ziółkowski, Director of Technology and Customer Support, Silicon Creations. “Through early engagement, detailed reviews, and continuous learning, we help customers solve clocking challenges and avoid integration issues before they become costly. Our success is deeply tied to the success of our customers and in N2, the stakes are particularly high.”

"Congratulations to Silicon Creations on achieving their 1000th production FinFET tapeout. This milestone is a testament to the mutual trust and close collaboration between TSMC and Silicon Creations," said Aveek Sarkar, Director of the Ecosystem and Alliance Management Division at TSMC. "We look forward to driving the momentum of AI innovation forward with our Open Innovation Platform® (OIP) ecosystem partners to enable energy-efficient chip designs using TSMC’s advanced logic and packaging technologies."

As FinFET adoption deepens and the industry transitions to nanosheet technologies, Silicon Creations remains committed to delivering best-in-class IP and support for the most advanced nodes in production.
