About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Wachsman Elevates Veteran Leaders to Guide the Firm’s Next Decade

Wachsman launches specialized service for Digital Asset Treasuries and other public companies amid industry flight to quality

Firm celebrates 10 years of impact with a strengthened global leadership team

Wachsman, the first and largest communications strategy firm focused on crypto and the global mass market, today announced three senior promotions across its global organization, marking a significant step in the firm’s continued growth worldwide. These appointments underscore Wachsman’s culture of developing talent from within and mark the next phase of growth as the firm celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Liam Murphy has been promoted to Global President of Wachsman. Since joining in 2017, Murphy has been instrumental in building Wachsman’s European operations and driving its transformation into a global firm. In his new role, he will unify Wachsman’s regions, connect talent across borders, and ensure the firm delivers integrated global solutions at scale. A graduate of Trinity College, Dublin and The London School of Economics, Murphy’s experience includes time working as a Policy Advisor at the UK Cabinet Office and as a Communications Advisor at the European Commission.

Alex Corp has been promoted to Managing Director, Head of EMEA. Based in Dublin, Corp will assume full operational leadership of Wachsman’s 60-person European business, including its hubs in Dublin, London, and Geneva, and its network of expert practitioners across the continent. Since joining in 2020, Corp has led international teams on complex, multi-market briefs for start-up, scale-up and enterprise clients, including go-to-market strategy, litigation communications, M&A, capital raises, and cybersecurity incidents. With over 15 years of global experience, including work on the Olympic Games and FIFA World Cup, Corp has helped optimize Wachsman’s integrated, data-led service model for the most dynamic, disruptive firms in Web3, fintech, and digital assets.

Alex Sheehan has been promoted to Managing Director, Global Head of Strategy. A Wachsman veteran since 2017, Alex has spearheaded the firm’s international expansion, launching its Singapore and Geneva offices and driving growth across Europe. In her new global role, Sheehan will elevate Wachsman’s product worldwide, ensuring consistent quality, innovation, and impact across every region. With more than a decade of agency experience and deep expertise in digital assets and finance, Sheehan is uniquely positioned to shape Wachsman’s strategic offering at a time when demand for insight, credibility, and influence in communications has never been greater.

“The communications industry is at an inflection point. Finance, technology, and policy are converging at unprecedented speed, and the companies driving this change demand a partner that can operate fearlessly, seamlessly, and globally,” said David Wachsman, Founder and Chief Executive of Wachsman. “By elevating Liam, Alex, and Alex, some of our longest-serving colleagues, into these roles, we’re reinforcing Wachsman’s foundations for the next decade.”

He added: “We are seeing significant, era-defining shifts in the industry, such as the emergence of Digital Asset Treasuries (DATs) and the rise of IPOs for crypto companies. With Bitcoin ETFs already well-established, corporations and institutions are increasingly holding digital assets on their balance sheets. This era-defining shift is fueling a flight to quality across the communications and strategy consulting industries. Wachsman’s new dedicated Digital Capital Markets service is designed to help organizations communicate with confidence and seize this opportunity.”

Over the past decade, Wachsman has been the trusted advisor to some of the most innovative organizations in the world, including DBS, Visa, Standard Chartered, Ripple, Solana, Parity, Hedera, Cardano, MARA, Ondo, and Token2049. These promotions reinforce the firm’s mission to help clients win trust, command attention, and defend their market positions.

Since its founding in September 2015, Wachsman has grown into the leading communications and strategy partner for crypto and emerging industries. These latest appointments mark the next step in preparing the firm for its next decade of growth. With offices across the United States and in Dublin, London, Geneva, and Singapore, Wachsman remains the partner of choice for companies navigating the complexities of emerging and disruptive industries.
