About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Local car buyers and sellers now have access to faster, more convenient service

Carvana (NYSE: CVNA), an industry pioneer for buying and selling used cars online, today announced the launch of same-day vehicle delivery in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Select local customers can now receive their newly purchased vehicle as soon as the same day they place an order on Carvana.com. Carvana expands same-day delivery to the San Francisco Bay Area, bringing greater convenience and faster deliveries to local residents.

“The process was so simple and convenient. My husband and I didn’t realize buying a car could be this easy, or that we could have it in our driveway the very same day,” said Alycia B., a Carvana customer from the Bay Area. “We love Carvana and are planning to trade in our other car and purchase with Carvana again soon.”

Carvana’s intuitive e-commerce platform allows customers to shop one of the nation’s largest selections of high-quality pre-owned vehicles, secure financing, trade in their current car, and complete their purchase entirely online. After purchasing an eligible vehicle, local buyers now have the opportunity to receive their vehicle as soon as the same day.

This new same-day service in the Bay Area is powered by Carvana’s expanding Northern California operations, including its Inspection and Reconditioning Center (IRC) in Rocklin and its recent integration of IRC capabilities at ADESA Golden Gate in Tracy. Together, these facilities enable significant reconditioning capacity and strengthen Carvana’s fulfillment network in the region, bringing local customers a growing selection of vehicles with the speed and convenience of same-day delivery.

“The Bay Area has always been an important market for Carvana, and we love to bring new innovations to a community known for embracing what’s next,” said Jacqueline Hearns, Carvana’s Senior Director of Market Operations and Expansion. “With this launch, we’re taking the experience to the next level by offering same-day delivery on a growing selection of vehicles. Now, local customers can go from checkout to driveway delivery the very same day, getting even more speed with all of the convenience, transparency, and control that they are used to from buying on Carvana.”

Carvana first introduced same-day delivery in Arizona and has rapidly expanded the offering to select markets across more than 15 states. The company plans to continue its expansion in the months ahead as it leverages its growing network of IRCs and fulfillment operations.
