About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Evans Moore, LLC Facilitates a Medical Malpractice Lawsuit Following an Inmate's Wrongful Death

Georgetown, SC - Evans Moore, LLC is suing the Spartanburg County Detention Center for medical malpractice and the wrongful death of Ashley Lee Apple, who was booked on April 8, 2024. Through the law firm, her estate filed a notice of intent to sue the sheriff’s office in state court on February 17, 2025.

The EMS arrived at the detention center on April 12, 2024, and found Ashley unresponsive before they pronounced her dead at the hospital that afternoon. The cause of death was Acute peritonitis due to a perforated ulcer.

The legal notice from Evans Moore, LLC states that the jail staff made several mistakes while Ashley was in their care. These include failing to consider her past medical history and disregarding illness symptoms, which prolonged oxygen deprivation and, ultimately, her death.
Ashley’s attorney, James B. Moore III, strongly condemned the detention center’s negligence. “Instead of taking her complaints seriously, Ashley got an Ibuprofen and died from an illness that in modern medicine people don’t die from. When you’re in jail, and you’re 100 percent reliant on medical staff for access to care, it’s on them. Had she not been incarcerated, she could have picked up the phone and called 911. She would have been treated and she would have lived.” His statement highlights the critical responsibility of correctional facilities to ensure inmates receive proper medical attention.

The parties involved in the litigation have 120 days from the notice of intent to meet with a mediator as required by law in medical malpractice cases. If no agreement is reached during this mandatory mediation period, the case will proceed to court. Evans Moore, LLC remains committed to seeking justice for Ashley’s family and ensuring accountability for the failures that led to her death.

The team comprises medical malpractice lawyers dedicated to helping victims pursue financial damages from at-fault doctors, nurses, or medical practitioners who have failed to provide the standard of care other professionals in the same field would have in similar circumstances.

Healthcare professionals must follow strict policies, state laws, and federal regulations to ensure patient safety. When they violate these stipulations, medical malpractice occurs from anesthesia/pharmaceutical errors, wrong diagnoses, hospital negligence, surgical errors, delayed treatment, improper medicine administration, lack of informed consent, retained foreign objects, and wrongful death.

The personal injury attorney reviews different factors associated with a client’s case, whether it's the severity of the injury, the amount of insurance coverage available, the medical provider’s liability, the victim’s quality of life, and estimated current/future costs.

Evans Moore, LLC fights for each client’s rights to medical bills, lost wages/earning capacity, mental anguish, out-of-pocket expenses, pain and suffering, physical impairment/disfiguration, loss of consortium, and other expenses. The team handles every step of the legal process, freeing victims to recover and focus on their families. This comprehensive approach to representation has earned the law firm multiple awards from prestigious legal organizations and many glowing reviews.
