Louisiana Academy of Performing Arts - River Ridge Offers Comprehensive Guitar Lessons for Different Ages

Harahan, LA: Louisiana Academy of Performing Arts - River Ridge (LAAPA) offers individualized guitar lessons. Whether students are interested in learning acoustic, electric, classical, bass guitar, mandolin, or other instruments, the music school offers a flexible curriculum tailored to their goals and music interests. 

 

The guitar lessons are available to students of different ages, starting as young as six years old. The classes are further structured to serve a range of students from casual players to complete beginners and advanced musicians. Depending on their preference, they can choose between 30, 45, or 60-minute weekly sessions. 

 

Students learn fundamental skills, including scales, strumming, and finger positioning, all of which are combined with genre-specific training. They learn music by practicing songs from their favorite artists and genres. Instructional styles taught at the school include rock, pop, gospel, Christian, classical, R&B, and Jazz. 

 

In the guitar lessons near me, students get a chance to collaborate artistically, connect with peers, and explore other performing arts. And since the school offers other music and instrument lessons, a multidisciplinary approach helps develop learners into well-rounded musicians.

These platforms allow students to practice skills. These include basics such as tuning and hand positioning, as well as more advanced skills like solo work, chord progressions, and mastering repertoire.  

 

Louisiana Academy of Performing Arts - River Ridge takes guitar learning a step further by organizing weekly enrichment classes that deepen musical learning. These weekly classes help develop students’ overall musicianship and creativity. While optional, the enrichment classes teach songwriting, music theory, vocals, drama improv, theory via Zoom, and choreography.
