About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Five Lakes Coffee releases NFTs with perks

By: Get News

Sturgis, Michigan - Nov 8, 2022 - Five Lakes Coffee co-owners Paul and Jared Smith have announced the launch of a new NFT collection recently minted on the polygon blockchain and available at OpenSea.io The CoffeePunks NFT collection is a 10K piece collection of pixel art NFTs drawn by Paul’s son Gabriel and Jared’s son James.

Gabriel and James began drawing the pixel characters that became the foundation of the NFT collection on an iPad in early 2022. Paul brought the drawings to the office and said, “We’re going to make an NFT collection”. Marketing Director, Corey Kline recalls the announcement as unexpected and exciting. “None of us knew how to make NFTs. A few of us in the office had purchased NFTs, but that was the extent of our knowledge. As you can imagine, there was a lot of learning, research, and trial and error. We loved the retro look of Gabriel and James’ art and were eager to get started on the project”, said Kline.

During the project Paul and Jared served as creative directors and advisors, while Kline took the wheel with the layering attributes, coding, the smart contract, and minting.

Paul and Jared, proud fathers, are excited to share the NFT’s their sons created with the world and are pleased to announce that if you own a CoffeePunks NFT they’re going to send a free Five Lakes Coffee Trading Card NFT to your digital wallet and with that card, a code good for $100 of freshly roasted coffee or merchandise at FiveLakes.com. Currently CoffeePunks NFT’s start at about $75.

Google reviews show Five Lakes Coffee having 4.7 out of 5 stars. On Amazon.com, Five Lakes gets 4.5 stars overall and on Facebook, 4.8 out of 5 stars. What do the reviewers have to say?

Clare wrote "Always fabulous coffee and service".

Michael says, "Best coffee shop I've been to from Portland to Miami, house roasted beans and absolutely the Pinnacle of perfected coffee".

That’s just two of the numerous reviews that I found cruising the web.

Every online order is freshly roasted and shipped direct. If that’s not enough, you can customize your roast and grind! This seriously good coffee stands apart from the competition, you may find that Five Lakes Coffee is the best kept coffee secret in America!
