About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Sean Glasser’s Inspiring Journey of Entrepreneurship Explored in New Interview
Empathy, effective communication, and a willingness to provide honest feedback while respecting others’ perspectives contribute to strong leadership.
Sean Glasser, CEO of BLUETRACK, shares his inspiring journey from high school entrepreneurship to success. He started with a Geometry study guide, raised funds for 9/11 responders on eBay, and co-founded BLUETRACK. Now, the company serves industry giants like Google and Disney. Glasser's story highlights determination and dedication for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Sean Glasser, the co-founder and CEO of BLUETRACK Inc., has emerged as a notable entrepreneur with a remarkable journey from humble beginnings to entrepreneurial success. His story serves as a compelling narrative of perseverance, adaptability, and unwavering dedication.

Born in Jersey City as the youngest of three brothers, Sean Glasser's entrepreneurial spirit began to shine at an early age. During his high school years, he demonstrated his business acumen by creating a Geometry study guide to assist fellow students in preparing for the SAT, which he successfully sold for $12 each. However, it was during his college years that Sean's entrepreneurial journey truly took off.

Sean's academic excellence earned him the prestigious Vice-Presidential nomination to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, a rare distinction awarded to only two individuals each year. Later, he transferred to Seton Hall University on a full academic scholarship, majoring in Criminal Justice with aspirations of becoming an FBI agent. However, the tragic events of September 11, 2001, had a profound impact on Sean's life. Living just minutes away from the World Trade Center, he was deeply affected by the crisis. In response, he embarked on a mission to raise funds for the NYPD and FDNY by selling memorial-related apparel on eBay. Little did he know that this experience would ignite his passion for online selling.

Following his charitable work on eBay, Sean explored opportunities to generate extra income while still in college. His journey led him to discover a company selling Tirefly wheel lights, which prompted him to start buying and selling their products on eBay. Sean's relentless work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and innate marketing skills allowed him to dominate the eBay marketplace. During this period, he realized the potential of creating his own business.

Upon graduating, Sean Glasser teamed up with his college friend, Sage Katakura. Together, they co-founded BLUETRACK in West New York, New Jersey, despite having limited experience in the field. Determined to succeed, they dedicated themselves to mastering the intricacies of printing, marketing, and running a business. The initial days of BLUETRACK were marked by tireless efforts, with both founders often earning just $100 a week.

Over time, their persistence bore fruit as BLUETRACK gained the trust of prominent brands, building a loyal customer base of 40,000, including industry giants like Google, Nike, Netflix, Disney, and the NFL. Sean Glasser's entrepreneurial spirit, combined with Sage Katakura's partnership, propelled BLUETRACK into becoming one of the world's leading sources of stress balls. The company's exceptional success ultimately led them to acquire the domain stressballs.com.

Today, Sean Glasser serves as the CEO of BLUETRACK, leading the company as it continues to expand its product offerings. BLUETRACK is on the brink of opening a new corporate headquarters in Montclair, New Jersey, representing another significant milestone in their entrepreneurial journey.

Sean Glasser's story epitomizes the power of determination, resilience, and the unwavering pursuit of one's dreams. Starting as a young student with a vision, he has evolved into a successful entrepreneur with a global presence. His journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring business leaders, encouraging them to persevere through life's challenges and transform their entrepreneurial dreams into reality. With a relentless focus on continuous improvement and a commitment to prioritizing customers, Sean Glasser and BLUETRACK are poised to reach even greater heights in the years ahead.
