About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

World Pickleball Convention Returns to Palm Beach

By: Get News
The Palm Beach Convention Center to host pickleball's annual convention

West Palm Beach, FL - In 2021, the National Pickleball Expo made its debut in South Florida to a tune of 70 exhibitors and approximately 1,400 attendees during a two-day show when pickleball was just beginning its unprecedented growth. Since then, quite a few things have changed in pickleball as well as the expo.

Pickleball has since expanded its reach, going from an estimated 1.5 million players to over 38 million having played this year.  There are now more pickleball players than golf and tennis combined. Similarly, the National Pickleball Expo has almost doubled year over year to having almost 6,000 attendees at the Las Vegas Convention Center last June. As a result, they are now the official annual convention of pickleball.

The show’s producers, National Pickleball Expositions, now host two events each year.  The World Pickleball Convention, which returns triumphantly to the Palm Beach Convention Center in June of 2025, as well as the National Pickleball Expo which remains a regional show and moves to different cities throughout the U.S.

While both events will feature pickleball related events, shopping and entertainment, the World Pickleball Convention is pickleball’s official annual convention, and features a conference with keynote speakers, three championship tournaments (Collegiate National Championships, the Armed Forces Picklebowl, and the Palm Beach Cup) plus over 150 exhibitions.  This year’s convention also brings the growing sport, Padel, with a full Padel court being erected so that attendees may discover and experience the new sport.

UBER and Delta Airlines are two of the presenting sponsors and will be providing much of the transportation for the players and attendees.  Delta is providing discounted flights for all players, while UBER is providing a free ride to the convention center for anyone within 20 miles of the convention center.

In addition, to the presenting sponsors, a new activewear apparel company, Swing Sports, will be sponsoring the 2025 Activewear Fashion show, where they will be unveiling new fashions to the growing pickleball audience.  The runway fashion show is being held directly on the show floor.

“There will be something for everyone at the pickleball expo,” said Carl Foster, spokesperson for the World Pickleball Convention, and organizer of the conference. “Attendees will range from individuals and families who have never played, all the way up to advanced and pro players. The show floor is heralding big discounts on everything from equipment, apparel, pickleball vacations, communities, instruction, and much more. There is even an on-site championship tournament taking place directly on the floor of the expo with twenty courts erected for the event. If it has anything to do with pickleball, it will be there,” continued Foster.

In addition to the show floor, a full on-site conference will support over fifty pickleball industry leaders from all over the world presenting key notes and panel conversations affecting the future of the sport.

The event is set for June 26-27, 2025. Additional information on the show can be found on the National Pickleball Expo’s official website.
