About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Christmas Joypark: Bringing Christ Back into Christmas

Christmas Joypark: Bringing Christ Back into Christmas
Christmas Joypark, the enchanting Christmas experience that emphasizes the true meaning of Christmas, is set to take place from December 19 to December 22, 2024, at Myers Park in McKinney, Texas. This unique event, founded by Christian entrepreneur Mosongo Osong, aims to restore the focus on Jesus Christ during the festive season.

Mosongo Osong, owner of Catholic Marketing Network and founder of Faith Platforms LLC and CatholicBrain, Inc. was inspired to create Christmas Joypark after experiencing frustration with the secular nature of many Christmas events and parks. "I attended several Christmas events with my children, and it saddened me to see that they all hid the true meaning of Christmas," says Osong. "These experiences led me to establish an event that brings Christ back into Christmas and allows families to celebrate the season with its true spirit."

Christmas Joypark began in December 2021 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, originally named the St. Nicholas Christmas Show. The two-day show featured inspirational speakers, live Christmas music, a Christmas pageant, storytime and pictures with St. Nicholas, Christmas lights, and shopping from various Christian retailers. The inaugural event attracted 750 attendees over two days. The following year, attendance more than doubled, with over 1,500 people participating.

This year, the event will be held outdoors at the expansive 50-acre Myers Park in McKinney, Texas, allowing for even more activities and attractions. The four-day celebration will offer a variety of engaging experiences, including:

  • Walkthrough Nativity Scene: Depicting the story leading to the birth of Christ

  • Live Christmas Music: Enjoy performances from talented musicians celebrating the season with joyful tunes.

  • Christmas Pageant: Witness the nativity story brought to life in a beautiful and moving pageant.

  • Storytime and Pictures with St. Nicholas: Delight in stories of St. Nicholas and capture memories with festive photos.

  • Snow Slide: Take a trip down a slide made of real snow! Enjoy a treat not often available in Texas, and have a white Christmas!

  • Christmas Lights: Stroll through dazzling light displays that illuminate the park.

  • Christmas Shopping: Browse a tasteful market featuring unique gifts and decorations from local Christian retailers.

  • Hay Rides: Take a scenic ride through the beautifully decorated park.

  • Food Trucks: Where attendees can get food from a variety of local food trucks

  • Bounce Houses and Slides: Keep little ones active with inflatable slides and bounce house fun!

The goal of Christmas Joypark is to provide kids and families with an opportunity to experience the true meaning and joy of Christmas. With the theme "Bringing Christ Back into Christmas," the event seeks to remind attendees of the spiritual significance of the holiday.

"We are excited to host Christmas Joypark at Myers Park this year," says Osong. "It's a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, celebrate their faith, and create lasting memories."

Tickets for Christmas Joypark are now available on the event website, www.christmasjoypark.com. Join us for a heartwarming and festive celebration that puts Christ at the center of Christmas.
