About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

“Bad Boys, Bad Boys: What Does a Lawyer Do?!” Exposes the Hilarious, Unexpected, and Occasionally Absurd Life of a Criminal Defense Attorney

By: Get News

Virginia - March 25, 2025 - Veteran attorney and bestselling author Robert L. Wegman delivers his much-anticipated second book, Bad Boys, Bad Boys: What Does a Lawyer Do?!, a whip-smart, hilarious, and refreshingly unorthodox exploration of life as a criminal defense lawyer. This riotous collection of stand-alone stories, personal anecdotes, and irreverent reflections serves as both comic relief and unexpected social commentary—offering a peek behind the legal curtain in a way only Wegman can.

Far from a dry legal tome, Bad Boys shines a light on the bizarre, the ridiculous, and the surprisingly human side of criminal defense. From defending the indefensible to confronting the absurdities of everyday life, Wegman shares his unique perspective shaped by decades of legal and life experience—including his time as a music teacher, U.S. Coast Guard officer, and federal prosecutor. With echoes of the iconic Saul Goodman and the humor of Reader’s Digest, Bad Boys delivers sharp wit and critical thought in equal measure.

Serious law, absurd reality — defending the indefensible with wit and wisdom.

Chapters bounce from courtroom absurdities to philosophical takes on climate change, the military-industrial complex, and the pitfalls of modern language, all delivered in Wegman’s signature zany, insightful voice. Whether you’re reading during a coffee break or on a Caribbean vacation, each chapter stands alone, making this the perfect book to pick up, laugh through, and ponder long after putting it down.

Following the success of his first book, Identity Crisis: A Lawyer’s Tale, which earned a five-star rating on Amazon, Wegman continues to push literary boundaries with his unique blend of law, life, and levity. Bad Boys, Bad Boys: What Does a Lawyer Do?! is now available in paperback, hardcover, and eBook formats at major booksellers and online retailers.

About the Author

Robert L. Wegman is a seasoned criminal defense attorney, former U.S. Coast Guard JAG officer, and bestselling author. Raised in rural North Carolina, Wegman began his professional journey as a music teacher before serving as a commissioned officer in the Coast Guard, where he earned accolades in environmental law and legal prosecution. After graduating cum laude from New York Law School and serving as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, he transitioned to private practice in Manhattan before founding his own criminal defense firm in Virginia.

With over two decades of courtroom experience and a sharp, satirical voice, Wegman brings a unique and deeply human perspective to the legal world. His debut book, Identity Crisis: A Lawyer’s Tale, received critical acclaim and a five-star Amazon rating. In Bad Boys, Bad Boys: What Does a Lawyer Do?!, he invites readers on a candid, humorous, and thought-provoking ride through the life and mind of a lawyer who refuses to take himself—or the world—too seriously.
