About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Autolink Debuts at the 2025 Auto Shanghai, Showcasing Advancements in Smart Mobility

By: Get News

The 2025 Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition officially opened on April 23. Autolink participated in the exhibition and made a strong impression with a diverse array of core offerings that highlight its robust technological foundation and innovative edge in intelligent cockpit and cockpit-driving integration systems. Its comprehensive product portfolio spans from entry-level to high-end solutions, catering to the evolving demands of intelligent vehicles.

Among the highlights was the Full-domain Smart Demonstration Vehicle, which integrates domain controllers based on Qualcomm’s SA8255P and SA8775P platforms. These controllers combine data from sensors across the vehicle to support intelligent cockpit features alongside advanced driving capabilities. With SOA-compliant interfaces and service-oriented gateways, the system establishes a strong technical foundation for centralized architectures and unified control across vehicle domains.

Autolink also showcased its latest AL-A1 Cockpit-Driving Integration Product, built on the Qualcomm SA8775P platform. This solution, which reached key development milestones in 2024 and is scheduled for mass production in the fourth quarter of 2025, consolidates mid-to-high-end cockpit functionalities with advanced driving features in a single SoC—offering a streamlined solution for OEMs transitioning to next-generation EE architectures.

In another key development, the company presented its AL-C2 High-end Cockpit-Parking Integration Product, based on the Qualcomm SA8255P platform and the proprietary Autosee OS. This system merges data from both internal and external sensors to deliver a seamless, interactive digital experience—enhancing entertainment, comfort, and intelligent user interaction. Mass production is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2025.

A notable innovation on display was Autolink’s in-vehicle optical transmission solution, co-developed with InnoLight. Designed to enable mid-range, high-speed data transfer, this solution features high bandwidth, low latency, and strong resistance to electromagnetic interference. Supporting industry standards such as DP, MIPI, and PCIe, it serves as a compelling alternative to traditional SerDes architectures for centralized computing platforms.

Autolink also highlighted its expertise in cockpit display technology by showcasing a range of in-vehicle displays—including LCD, Mini-LED, and AMOLED variants. These displays address market needs ranging from high contrast and fast response to wide color gamut and cost efficiency, underscoring Autolink’s ability to deliver flexible, full-spectrum solutions for intelligent cockpits.

Meanwhile, Autolink is advancing pre-research efforts based on Qualcomm’s 8397/8797 platforms. Leveraging the powerful computing capabilities of the flagship 8x97-series cockpit chips in combination with L3 to L4 autonomous driving technologies, the initiative aims to significantly enhance the driving experience. The platform supports faster data processing and multitasking, ensuring smooth performance and quick responsiveness of in-vehicle infotainment systems. Additionally, the chip is capable of running over a hundred AI models, including Llama2-13B, with inference efficiency improved by up to four times. This enables real-time updates of driving information, intelligent cockpit environment control, and a wide range of online entertainment services. The integration of advanced technology and user-centric experience is set to deliver a smarter and more efficient mobility solution.

In 2024, Autolink delivered more than 800,000 domain control units, supporting over 80 vehicle models from mainstream automotive brands. By March 2025, its products had reached over 90 countries and regions worldwide, including the European Union, the Middle East, South America, and Southeast Asia.

At the beginning of 2025, Autolink introduced a forward-looking ten-year strategy—“Integration, Globalization, Comprehensive.” The strategy positions cockpit-driving integration as the company’s core focus, advancing centralized domain controller platforms toward higher levels of integration and intelligence. It also accelerates overseas market expansion by establishing a global R&D, delivery, and service network across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Additionally, Autolink aims to strengthen full-process management across R&D, design, manufacturing, marketing, and after-sales, enhancing its end-to-end capabilities from concept to product.

Autolink will remain committed to working with global partners to support the automotive industry’s transition to intelligent mobility—delivering safer, more convenient, and smarter driving experiences for users around the world.
