About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Chery unveils the “Collaborative ESG Innovation Initiative” to advance sustainable development commitments

By: Get News

On April 27th, the grand opening of 2025 Chery International Business Summit, themed "New Technology, New Integration, New Mission" took place in Wuhu.

During this annual conference, Chery launched an ESG cooperation initiative, aiming to fully embrace global electrification transition and actively fulfill the concept of green development, while continuously paying attention to environmental management and social responsibility across the value chain. Chery’s landmark ESG initiative not only received enthusiastic responses from participating dealers but also exemplifies Chery's global vision and commitment to human welfare. Built on mutual respect, trust, and stable collaboration, it marks a renewed "two-way partnership" between Chery and its worldwide dealer network, creating a distinctive "Chery Model" for sustainable development. Furthermore, building upon this initiative, Chery also announced sustainable development goals for the industry: by 2026, Chery aims to achieve a 5% reduction in average vehicle lifecycle emissions, a 5% decrease in electricity and water consumption per vehicle, and a 2% reduction in hazardous waste intensity. These targets not only signify Chery's ongoing commitment to ESG principles and its role as a responsible global corporate citizen but also represent a new mission for Chinese automobiles in their globalization efforts.

  1. Harmonious coexistence with the nature: developing low-carbon innovations through green technology

For decades, Chery has championed the dual transformation of commercial success and societal impact. As a China's pioneering global automaker, Chery adheres to the vision of "Crafting exceptional brands with masterful ingenuity", while embracing the "In somewhere, for somewhere" philosophy. As climate change and carbon emissions emerge as defining global challenges with profound impacts across industries, Chery Group is committed to becoming a world-leading green intelligent mobility technology company and has gained international recognition for its low-carbon initiatives.

As a key enabler of the energy transition, Chery is accelerating sustainable development worldwide through technological innovation and global layout. With an unwavering dedication to low-carbon solutions, Chery continuously pioneers intelligent green mobility experiences while fostering collaborative innovation. At the same time, it has relentlessly carried out exploration and innovation, actively collaborating with users to co-create and expand an innovative ecological matrix, fully embracing automotive life. Currently, Chery has established strategic partnerships with 55 core suppliers to reduce carbon emissions in production and develop a sustainable green ecosystem.

III. Small acts, big impact: people-oriented innovation for a joyful Chery life

Mother Teresa, the renowned Nobel Peace Prize laureate, once proclaimed, "Everyone deserves to love and be loved—regardless of skin color, faith, or any label." Chery embodies this vision by elevating individual compassion into global solidarity. In the loving big family of Chery, employees are given the utmost respect, regardless of their religious beliefs, cultural backgrounds, or personal identities. At the same time, Chery is always committed to fostering growth opportunities and welfare initiatives, exemplified by its joint venture with Spain’s EV MOTORS, where more than 300 former Nissan employees regained livelihoods, revitalizing local economies through Chery’s "warmth of love". Globally, Chery operates 10 manufacturing bases and hosts cross-cultural workshops to promote mutual learning under its "co-creation, integration, and sharing" principle. This "Chery solution" embraces diversity with open arms, making the world a more loving place through tangible actions.

In terms of social responsibility, Chery actively engages in philanthropic initiatives, with sustained investments in disaster relief and children's rights protection. In October 2023, Chery forged a two-year USD 6 million global partnership with UNICEF (the United Nations Children's Fund) to support education programmes across the world. Since 2023, Chery has supported UNICEF in reaching nearly 40 million children and adolescents worldwide, including 17 million in emergencies, to access quality education. In 2024, Chery invested another USD 3.5 million to launch the "Cherish the Nature" global cooperation project with IUCN, highlighting key issues such as water resources, marine conservation, and biodiversity to carry out in-depth international cooperation. In the next two years, it is expected that more than 12,000 mangroves will be restored in Selangor, Malaysia, contributing to biodiversity, coastal resilience, and climate change mitigation. In Spain, research is being conducted on ecological mooring systems for Posidonia oceanica conservation in Andalusia, which will make significant contributions to marine and biodiversity conservation.

In pursuing the harmony of economic growth with environmental and social responsibility, Chery embeds ESG principles throughout its corporate DNA. Through technological innovation, collaborative carbon reduction across the entire industry chain, long-term investment in social welfare, and optimization of corporate governance systems, Chery integrates low-carbon emission reduction, environmental protection, and governance optimization into its entire business chain, driving high-quality development and achieving global sustainability goals. With dual focus on present impact and future transformation, Chery is emerging as the frontrunner in sustainable mobility—methodically advancing toward its vision of becoming "a world-leading green intelligent mobility technology company".
