Comedian and social commentator offers inspiration for those who look for love and end up finding themselves

NEW YORK - April 30, 2025 - Jena Kingsley, comedian and social commentator, today announced the release of her new book, “Darcy Dates” on Amazon.com. “Darcy Dates” is written as a diary, which is incredibly funny and unfiltered. The book is based on the popular 2010 blog and will be well received by the same audience that appreciates single girl characters who date, like HBO’s Carrie Bradshaw.

In the 2010’s there was Facebook, but very little social media, and no Instagram. According to Kingsley, “Darcy was written when people clung to their BlackBerry’s and Instagram did not exist.”

Darcy Dates,” is a diary, which introduces us to a divorced, single mother after having been married for seven years. She finds herself navigating the dating world on New York’s Upper East Side. Darcy encounters people who carry, “more baggage than any bellhop at the Pierre Hotel could handle,” said the author.

Darcy begins to document her dates in the form of a blog, which becomes her diary. “Darcy Dates” provides the reader with hilarious comedy, sometimes cringey, and at times emotionally touching. Kingsley shared, “You will definitely belly laugh, you may tear up. Sometimes you might want to look away, but one thing is clear, you will cheer on and support Darcy in her quest for love.
