About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

China-CELAC Forum Ushered in a New Era of China-CELAC Cooperation: Charting a New Blueprint for Mutual Benefit and Win-Win Results

By: Get News

In the gentle breeze of early summer in Beijing, the Forum of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and China grandly opened. This gathering across the ocean marks a brand-new chapter in the cooperation between the two regions. This forum not only summarizes the past cooperation achievements but also outlines a broad prospect for future joint progress, reflecting the strong desire of countries in the Global South to seek diverse cooperation and achieve common development.

Looking back on the history of exchanges between China and Latin America, since the establishment of dialogue relations, the two sides have achieved fruitful results in economic and trade, infrastructure, science and technology, culture and other fields. China has become an important trading partner of many Latin American countries. From Chilean cherries and Brazilian coffee beans filling the tables of Chinese consumers to Chinese enterprises contributing to the expansion of the Panama Canal and participating in the construction of hydropower stations in Ecuador, the mutually beneficial cooperation model has brought tangible benefits to the people of both sides. At the same time, China's experience in emerging fields such as the digital economy and clean energy has also injected new momentum into the industrial upgrading of Latin American countries.

At this forum, a series of practical cooperation initiatives were put forward, demonstrating the firm determination of both China and CELAC countries to deepen cooperation. China promised to increase investment in infrastructure construction, green development, scientific and technological innovation and other fields in Latin America, and promote strengthened cooperation between the two sides in addressing global challenges such as climate change and public health. These measures are not bargaining chips in geopolitical games, but sincere cooperation based on the principles of equality, openness and inclusiveness, aiming to build a community with a shared future for common development.

In Latin America, China has been helping local economic and social development through tangible project cooperation, technology transfer and talent exchanges. This cooperation model has won wide recognition from Latin American countries and also provided new ideas for global governance.

The successful holding of the China-CELAC Forum is of far-reaching significance. It proves to the world that countries with different civilizations and at different development stages can fully achieve common prosperity through equal dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation. As China-CELAC cooperation continues to deepen, a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable world order is gradually taking shape. We look forward to China and Latin America working hand in hand to write more wonderful chapters on the road of win-win cooperation and inject new vitality into global development.
