About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

By: Get News
Zevrix Solutions announces the release of ArtOptimizer 3.1.22, a compatibility upgrade to company's image processing workflow automation tool for Adobe Illustrator. ArtOptimizer helps users reduce the size of Illustrator links and automate complex image transformations. The software also offers image profile and format conversion, batch processing of Illustrator files, settings presets and much more. The new version adds support for the upcoming macOS 26 Tahoe expected to be released this fall.

Toronto, ON, Canada - September 2, 2025 - Zevrix Solutions today announced the release of ArtOptimizer 3.1.22 for Adobe Illustrator, a compatibility upgrade to the company's image processing automation solution. The only tool of its kind for Illustrator, ArtOptimizer eliminates excess image data of Illustrator links and performs essential image adjustments while automatically replacing images in Illustrator documents. The app helps users save disk space and reduce operational costs by streamlining complex image manipulation tasks and reducing processing time.

The new update adds support for the highly anticipated macOS 26 Tahoe, currently offered as a public beta by Apple. The update is offered free of charge to licensed users of ArtOptimizer.

ArtOptimizer is a powerful automation solution for users in the prepress, print, publishing, and web design industries, which harnesses the power of Photoshop to process Illustrator links. For example, with just a click of a button users can:

-Batch-optimize Illustrator files

-Scale images in Photoshop to match their dimensions in Illustrator document

-Change image resolution to 300 ppi

-Convert RGB images to a CMYK profile

-Resave JPEG files as TIFF

-Merge layers and delete unused ones

-Run Photoshop action on each image

-Assign variable data names to optimized links

At the end of processing ArtOptimizer reimports images to Illustrator at 100% in their precise positions. As a result, customers can save hours of manual image optimization as well as gigabytes of disk space. In addition, ArtOptimizer helps users speed up file transfer to service providers, accelerate document printing and exporting to PDF, reduce job turnaround, and cut costs through faster processing.

Pricing and Availability:

ArtOptimizer can be purchased from Zevrix web site for US$120, as well as from authorized resellers and Adobe Exchange. Licensed users of earlier versions can upgrade to ArtOptimizer 3 for $60. Trial is also available for download. ArtOptimizer requires macOS 10.9-26.x and Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop CS6-2025.
