About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Maptician Selected as Finalist in ALM’s Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law Awards 2023 for Tech-Enabled Hybrid Work Environment

ATLANTA, GA – (January 13, 2023) — Maptician, the market leading end-to-end technology solution for the hybrid workplace, announces the platform has been selected as a finalist in ALM’s Legalweek Leaders in Tech Awards in the Tech-Enabled Hybrid Work Environment category.  The Leaders in Tech Law Awards recognize innovation in the legal technology sector and for working on precedent-setting, game-changing projects and initiatives in the US.  Winners will be selected during Legalweek, March 20, 2023.

The project submitted by the Maptician team focused on an implementation for an Am Law 200 firm with 400 attorneys.  The firm had made a strategic, forward-thinking decision to embrace hoteling firmwide and desired to pilot hoteling in a single office location.  In mid-August, the firm met with the Maptician team at an ILTACON demonstration and, following, swiftly sought to engage Maptician for the rollout on an extremely rigorous, 3-week deadline.

Maptician successfully rolled out the pilot office on the firm’s 3-week timeline on time and on budget, showing proof of concept for the CIO to gain buy-in to roll out hoteling to the firm’s other 13 offices, which the company is currently in the process of provisioning.  The journey began with 40 users in one office and will grow to 554 users in 60 days.

COO of Maptician, AshLea Allberry, comments:  “We are thrilled that Maptician has been recognized as a finalist for the Leaders in Tech Law Awards.  Our mission from day one has been to make hybrid easy for law firms, and we’ve been proving it is possible client-by-client.  Beyond the recognition, we are honored to partner with our law firms and help them achieve their strategic goals.  We couldn’t be happier and look forward to enabling more client success stories like this.”

Maptician is the end-to-end solution for hybrid operations.  Maptician technology empowers law firms across the Am Law 100/200 to make great decisions about people and space while helping attorneys connect and collaborate in the office in a simple, user-friendly UX.

When firms choose hoteling, Maptician makes hoteling simple.  Interactive maps of office space show which desks and rooms are available for reservation on any given date and time.  Directory search functionality allows attorneys to search for others to see where they are and reserve a seat next to them, encouraging collaboration, and all reservations made in Maptician sync to Outlook, and room reservations made in Outlook also display in Maptician in real-time.
