About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Custom Legal Marketing Celebrates 18 Years of Law Firm SEO Success

Custom Legal Marketing, the law firm marketing agency that guarantees exclusivity to its nationwide portfolio of clients, turned 18 years old in January.

Before Facebook was a household name; before Twitter was founded; before YouTube was a company; and before social media marketing was on the radar of any business, Custom Legal Marketing’s parent company, Adviatech Corp. was born.

Adviatech was established on January 13, 2005, founded by Chris Kazor and Jason Bland in Tampa, Florida. The company name is a portmanteau derived from Advertising Via Technology. Digital marketing was the mission from day one and that hasn’t changed.

Immediately after launching, Adviatech created the SEO | Law Firm brand along with an insurance marketing service and a search engine that was built to better understand Google’s inner workings. While initially, the legal industry was not the company’s sole focus, SEO | Law Firm quickly became Adviatech’s dominant brand and would later become Custom Legal Marketing.

Adviatech has sold all of its non-legal brands and since 2014, the company has committed itself entirely to one mission… building bigger law firms. A mission that it carries out through its law firm SEO agency, Custom Legal Marketing, Law Firm Newswire, the media outreach service created in 2010, and Bigger Law Firm Magazine, a print and digital publication started in 2011.

In 2012, the company expanded westward and established a second office in San Francisco, CA, which now serves as the company’s headquarters.

In 2022, Custom Legal Marketing built CLM Studio after taking over a vacant office on the third floor of their Kearny Street location. CLM Studio handles post-production editing and produces video content for Custom Legal Marketing and Bigger Law Firm Magazine. The studio won a Viddy Award and W3 Award in 2022 for the Sommers Schwartz commercial, “What does it take to be a champion?

Custom Legal Marketing’s design team has been recognized with multiple Webby Honorees, W3 Awards, WebAwards, Muse Awards, MarCom, Interactive Media Awards, and many others.

The management team at CLM has contributed to Forbes, Inc., Entrepreneur and many other business and industry publications and Custom Legal Marketing maintains an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
