His pursuit of knowledge led him to Harvard University for a Master's, then  Brandeis University, where he earned a Ph.D. in Ancient Near Eastern Languages and Literature, further enriching his multidimensional expertise.

Throughout his illustrious career, COL Ungar-Sargon has shared his knowledge with future generations of medical professionals. He has held teaching positions at esteemed institutions such as the Harvard Medical College and the Medical College of Pennsylvania, fostering excellence in the medical field.

Moreover, COL Julian Ungar-Sargon's commitment extends beyond traditional medical realms. He recognizes the profound influence of spirituality on pain management and incorporates spiritual and religious factors into his treatment approach. In his new role as the US VRC Division Command Surgeon, COL Julian Ungar-Sargon will provide critical counsel to US VRC Commander JAMES BOLT. He will play an integral role in evaluating opportunities and establishing US VRC's medical command. The Commander General intends to establish one or more Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) in states with a critical mass of medical, healthcare and trained support personnel. This initiative not only bolsters disaster preparedness and response capabilities but also enhances recruitment, fundraising, and networking with civil authorities, Emergency Management Agencies (EMAs), and Public Health organizations while strengthening ties with Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD).
