About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Folk Americana Singer Songwriter Pete Campbell Releases New Single Chosen One on Pilot Light Records

By: IssueWire
Pete Campbell Chosen One

Pilot Light Records is proud to announce a new song by Contemporary Folk and Americana singer-songwriter Pete Campbell entitled "Chosen One."

Norwalk, Connecticut Nov 22, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Pilot Light Records has released a new Pete Campbell song, in time for Thanksgiving, entitled "Chosen One." The track is available worldwide on all streaming outlets, including Spotify, and Apple Music. The artist has dedicated the song to the multitude of friends, family, supporters and listeners, who have rallied around his blossoming musical career.

"I'm happy to say that "Chosen One" is finally coming out. It's about finding the light in the dark moments of life, and wondering if someone you love will be coming back into your life. The line "Shine for me in the darkness," it's easier said than done, but it makes all the difference when you're struggling," said Campbell.

"Chosen One," like his two previous singles, "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" and "Maybe It Was Wrong," was recorded at Factory Underground Studio in Norwalk, CT, where it was produced and engineered by Tom Stewart, with mixing and mastering by John Shyloski. Campbell's songs have been described as an earthy, organic mix of contemporary folk, Americana, with hints of country and Western.

"When I think of Pete Campbell, I think of artists like Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, and Willie Nelson, artists of an older generation, each with their own unique voice, who blazed their own unique musical trails. They were more than singers - they were pioneers and storytellers. Pete is like that to me, a rustic artist with a gentle heart, and a songwriter of pure, creative passion," said Marc Alan of Pilot Light Records.

When he is not writing songs and making music, Campbell is a full time resident of Ridgefield, CT, where he lives with his wife and children, operating a historic farm. Founded in 2016, Horseshoe Farm is dedicated to producing vegetables, fresh flowers, eggs, honey, and maple syrup through their small scale organic operation. Campbell is also an accomplished craftsman, guitar builder and philanthropist, who is working to help less fortunate musicians through a non-profit he formed in 2023 called the "Mindful Musicians Fund."
