Fenniman Elected President of Insurance Brokers' Association of the State of New York

New York City, New York Jun 9, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Douglas A. Fenniman, CPCU, ARM of Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., has been elected to serve as president of the Insurance Brokers' Association of the State of New York.

Mr. Fenniman was elected to the Board of Directors in 2014, appointed to the Executive Committee in 2021, and sworn in as president on April 18, 2023.

"It is my esteemed honor to be elected president and have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of many impactful industry professionals, including my father and brother, who served as IBANY Director and President, respectively," said Fenniman. "I look forward to working with my fellow Board members to serve the members of this distinguished organization."

IBANY membership currently includes more than 40 Broker and Associate member companies throughout the greater New York Metropolitan area, representing thousands of insurance professionals.

With more than 35 years of NYC Brokerage experience, Mr. Fenniman has held various sales positions with Richards & Fenniman, Bollinger, and now with Gallagher concentrating in Real Estate and Construction as Area Senior Vice President and a Director of the Construction Practice and Real Estate Practice Groups.

Mr. Fenniman earned his BA in Economics and Government from Connecticut College and his MBA from St. John's University Graduate School of Risk Management. He obtained his Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate Risk Management (ARM) designations from The Institutes.

In addition to his service to IBANY, Mr. Fenniman is Past President of the CPCU NY Chapter, Associate Member of the Subcontractors Trade Association, and Committee Chair of the Ronald McDonald House NY Children's Happy Faces Foundation.  In 2012, he was named NYARM Humanitarian of the Year.
