About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

BRYCER Appoints Brian Remillard Head of Sales to Lead Inspection Compliance Growth Nationwide

By: Prodigy
08/19/2025, Warrenville, IL // PRODIGY: Feature Story //

BRYCER, the nation’s leading inspection compliance software provider, is proud to announce the appointment of Brian Remillard as Head of Sales. With over 15 years of experience in building and scaling sales teams, Brian brings deep expertise in aligning critical solutions with customer pain points - making him an ideal leader to fuel BRYCER’s next phase of national growth.

BRYCER is transforming how cities enforce fire and life safety compliance.
BRYCER

Brian began his career at CareerBuilder.com, where he helped organizations enhance their recruitment strategies and streamline candidate experiences through technology. He went on to lead both inside and field sales divisions in the staffing industry, and most recently spent over seven years at Levata overseeing commercial sales for supply chain and traceability solutions within manufacturing and logistics.

“Each chapter of my career has centered on helping customers solve high-stakes problems with smart, tech-driven solutions,” said Remillard. “BRYCER stands apart by delivering tools that not only ease administrative burdens but help entire communities operate safer and more efficiently. That’s rare in sales - and it’s a mission I’m proud to be part of.”

As Head of Sales, Brian will focus on scaling adoption of The Compliance Engine across both Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and the service provider ecosystem. His priorities include:

  • Driving integration awareness and ease-of-use for service providers nationwide through enhanced inspection reporting capabilities

  • Deepening relationships with existing jurisdictions to source feedback and continuously improve inspection reporting workflows

“Too many cities are still operating in outdated, manual systems when it comes to public safety and inspection compliance,” said Remillard. “ My goal is to understand those daily challenges and offer solutions that actually make it easier for officials to do their jobs. And for service providers, it’s about creating a streamlined experience that helps them thrive in tandem with local departments - whether that’s through faster inspection reporting or smarter compliance tools.”

Brian joins BRYCER at a pivotal moment as jurisdictions across the country face growing inspection demands with fewer internal resources. The Compliance Engine, BRYCER’s flagship platform, supports thousands of cities by helping reduce overdue inspections, accelerate deficiency corrections, and improve public safety - without adding administrative burden. BRYCER’s inspection compliance tracking includes specialized modules for fire protection systems, elevators, and backflow prevention software, allowing jurisdictions and service providers to manage safety requirements more efficiently. Its integrated backflow prevention software also streamlines reporting and notifications for water safety compliance, giving both AHJs and service providers an easier way to stay on top of critical safety requirements.

About BRYCER

BRYCER is transforming how cities enforce fire and life safety compliance. Through its secure platform, The Compliance Engine, BRYCER empowers code officials and fire departments to track inspections, identify risks, and take action faster—without increasing administrative burden. With full-service support, automated notifications, and actionable analytics, BRYCER helps cities close the compliance gap, improve public safety, and protect community infrastructure.
