About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Sommers Schwartz, P.C. Unmasks Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Richard T. Craig

Detroit, Michigan – Sommers Schwartz, P.C., a renowned law firm in Michigan, is championing a legal battle against Father Richard T. Craig, bringing to light allegations of sexual misconduct involving minors.

Father Richard T. Craig, ordained in 1988 in the Diocese of Marquette, came under scrutiny in 1991. A young boy, during a counseling session with Catholic Social Services, revealed that he had been sharing a bed with Father Craig. The Diocese’s Sex Abuse Team immediately initiated an investigation, uncovering unsettling details. Father Craig had kissed the boy, hugged him, and insisted he be referred to as “Daddy.”

In the wake of these revelations, Father Craig requested a leave of absence from the diocese, citing “personal reasons.” He subsequently sought treatment at various hospitals and institutions. Unfortunately, his leave did not mark the end of such incidents.

In 1993, another minor claimed that Father Craig had made inappropriate sexual advances toward him during a camping trip. The diocese, after an internal review of the matter, verified the claim and unanimously called for Father Craig’s resignation from the priesthood. In 2018, Father Craig was invited to voluntarily defrock and is currently listed among the diocese’s priests accused of perpetrating sexual misconduct against minors.

At Sommers Schwartz, the clergy abuse attorneys, Lisa Esser-Weidenfeller, Matthew Curtis, and Jay Yasso, have dedicated themselves to fighting for sexual abuse survivors. The firm has a remarkable track record, having recovered millions from high-profile perpetrators, including Dr. Larry Nassar—former Michigan State University and USAG team physician—and Robert Anderson, who abused students, athletes, and patients at the University of Michigan for over three decades.

Sommers Schwartz is ready to combat for you. If you have been a victim of sexual abuse by Father Craig or any other ecclesiastical leader, the firm urges you to come forward. Sommers Schwartz offers a free consultation and promises a supportive and confidential environment throughout the legal process. The experienced attorneys will treat your story with the compassion, empathy, and sensitivity it deserves while tirelessly fighting for justice.

The firm stands committed to holding sexual predators accountable and ensuring survivors receive justice. This case against Father Richard T. Craig echoes Sommers Schwartz, P.C.’s relentless pursuit of justice, and the firm is determined to secure justice for all victims of sexual abuse.
