About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Dolman Law Group Challenges Roblox’s Attempt to Force Child Sexual Abuse Survivors into Secretive Arbitration

Dolman Law Group

Clearwater, FloridaDolman Law Group, a national litigation firm dedicated to advocating for injured individuals and families, today announced its determined opposition to Roblox Corporation’s attempts to force injured Roblox users into private, mandatory arbitration proceedings. The firm asserts that these dispute clauses, hidden within user agreements, are legally unenforceable against children who lack the capacity to enter such contracts, and represent a significant barrier to justice for some of society’s most vulnerable online users.

Dolman Law Group has already filed more than 15 lawsuits nationwide on behalf of families whose children have been exploited and abused by predators using the Roblox platform. These horrific cases often involve online grooming that begins on Roblox, escalates to other platforms like Discord, and can lead to sexual extortion, sharing of illicit material, and even physical assault.

Roblox, a multi-billion dollar online gaming platform popular with children, includes a mandatory arbitration clause in its user agreement that it now seeks to enforce against these minor survivors, preventing their cases from being heard in public courts.

“It is morally indefensible and legally questionable for a company like Roblox to hide behind an arbitration clause when children have been sexually exploited and harmed through activities facilitated on its platform,” stated Matthew Dolman, lead attorney handling these cases for Dolman Law Group. “Children cannot legally consent to contracts in the same way adults can, and these clauses are designed to silence survivors, obscure corporate accountability, and keep these heinous acts out of the public eye. We are fighting to ensure these young survivors get their day in court and that justice is served transparently.”

Stanley Gipe, lead trial attorney and partner at Dolman Law Group, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the firm’s commitment to challenging corporate power. “Our firm is prepared to vigorously challenge every attempt by Roblox to divert these critical cases into arbitration. We believe that public trials are essential for accountability, deterrence, and raising awareness about the serious dangers children face online. We will not allow a complex user agreement to deny these survivors their fundamental right to justice and prevent their stories from being heard.”

The firm argues that mandatory arbitration clauses, particularly those imposed on minors, deprive survivors of their constitutional right to a jury trial, limit discovery, and often result in confidential proceedings that prevent public scrutiny and systemic change. Dolman Law Group is committed to protecting the rights of these children and their families and holding platforms like Roblox accountable for creating environments where such abuse can occur.

Dolman Law Group encourages families who believe Roblox or other online platforms have harmed their children to seek legal counsel, learn about their rights, and explore their options for pursuing justice.
