About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Moore Payne Law Wins $1.5 Million Verdict for Car Accident Client

Orlando, Florida – Moore Payne Law, founded by partners Geoff Moore, Esq. and Spencer Payne, Esq., has secured a $1.5 million verdict for an Orlando woman who suffered spinal injuries and a mild brain injury after being rear-ended by a dump truck at a stoplight.

While the plaintiff’s injuries weren’t immediately visible after the accident, she soon-after experienced significant neurological and spinal complications that require ongoing medical treatment for the rest of her life, including two projected surgeries.

At trial, attorneys Moore and Payne presented evidence that emphasized the gap between the outward appearance of their client’s condition and the internal toll it had taken. After a four-hour deliberation, the jury ultimately sided with Moore Payne’s client, awarding her six times more than the insurance company had initially offered.

“This case wasn’t about flashy procedures or dramatic hospitalizations,” said Payne. “It was about listening to someone whose life was changed by something you couldn’t see and the courage it takes to go under the scrutiny of a trial to tell that story. Cases like hers remind us why it’s so important to fight for the people who don’t always have visible scars but carry the weight of their injuries every single day.”

“These kinds of cases are often the hardest to win because the damage isn’t always visible,” added Moore. “It’s easy for insurers, and even some attorneys, to undervalue them just to close the file. We weren’t willing to do that. The jury saw the truth of what our client has been living with and delivered a verdict that reflects the seriousness of those injuries.”

Based in Orlando, Moore Payne Law was founded to serve Floridians facing catastrophic injuries with a client-focused, trial-ready approach. As an intentionally low-volume firm, Moore Payne Law can devote the time and resources needed to prepare each case for trial. Both Moore and Payne bring extensive trial experience to their practice, earning over $35 million in verdicts for Florida victims and over $135 million in settlements. Their mission is to effect change both through results for their clients and accountability of big businesses and insurance companies.
