Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Michigan DUI Attorney Paul J. Tafelski Explains the Importance of Having a Lawyer for a DUI In Michigan

By: Magic PR

Michigan DUI attorney Paul J. Tafelski (https://www.michigandefenselaw.com/blog/dui-first-talk-attorney/) releases a new article that discusses the reasons why one needs a lawyer for a DUI in Michigan. The lawyer mentions that Michigan takes drunk driving very seriously and if someone is convicted, it may lead to significant penalties. These penalties include fines, the loss of their driving privileges, and even jail time.

According to the Michigan DUI attorney, For many people, their first contact with the criminal justice system happens when they are charged with drunk driving. When someone is stopped for suspicion of drunk driving or DUI, they often become extremely nervous and overly chatty. They may think that they can talk the police officer into letting them go, or that being cooperative and doing all roadside tests will convince the police not to arrest them.”

The lawyer explains the legal limit of blood alcohol content, or BAC is 0.08%. If someone has been stopped while driving with a BAC of 0.08%, they can be charged with OWI or operating while intoxicated. There is zero tolerance for drivers under the age of 21 who are caught driving with a BAC of 0.02%.

When a person is arrested for DUI, the immediate consequences can be overwhelming. They may be facing fines, jail time, and a criminal record, as well as the potential loss of their driver’s license and other penalties. Additionally, a DUI conviction can have long-term effects on a person’s employment and personal life. However, it is important to remember that an arrest is not a conviction and that a person has the right to defend themselves against the charges.

In the article, the lawyer says, “When people complain that they were not read their rights, they usually mean the Miranda Rights. These rights refer to a 1966 United States Supreme Court case called Miranda v. Arizona, which protects a person’s right to remain silent and not respond to questions after being arrested. The Miranda warnings protect the 5th Amendment Right to Remain Silent, but also the 6th Amendment Right to counsel.”

Furthermore, attorney Tafelski says that every person digests alcohol differently. Some may get drunk faster than others. Based on different factors like weight and age, a person’s tolerance to alcohol may be affected. Sometimes, a woman may reach a BAC of 0.08% faster than a man. The way alcohol is consumed can affect a person’s metabolism of liquor too.

Lastly, the Michigan DUI attorney explains how important it is to seek the guidance of an experienced attorney when being charged with DUI. Having a skilled attorney may help the defendant create a successful defense strategy and gain their freedom. Also, a skilled DUI attorney may be able to study the case in a more in-depth manner and help the defendant understand their rights and responsibilities in the case.
