About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Oviedo FL Survival/Tactical Self-Defense Course Online/In-Person Training Launch

Fishing for Reel has launched a range of training programs focused on self-defense, survival skills, tactical home protection, and firearm basics. The new courses complement the company’s existing range of camping, hiking, and fishing products.

The newly launched self-defense and home protection courses reflect the rise of violent crimes and home invasions across America. The educational training can help participants secure their concealed carry license, which requires additional live-fire training with a qualified instructor.

More information is available at https://www.fishingforreel.com

Several training packages are available for customers of different skill levels and budgets. Single courses can be taken on a pay-as-you-go basis. Packages such as the Core7+Bundle, which contains seven core courses, and the Tri-Fecta Bundle, which includes instructional materials necessary for a concealed carry license, are also on offer.

Moreover, an all-inclusive package called the Full Monty has all the above courses in addition to 4 hours of live-fire training and one-month membership in the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA).

Fishing for Reel wants to support as many customers as possible, which is why it offers a variety of online options for the theory modules. However, live-fire training must take place in person for 2 of the modules currently offered.

Advantages of offering online modules include the fact that students can study from the comfort of their own homes, safe from the pandemic. There is no pressure or uncomfortable classroom setting for them to contend with or be concerned with while learning.

Students must successfully complete and pass the online portion and the live-fire training to achieve their certificate in only 2 of the 11 courses offered. The course is run by a fully certified instructor for the USCCA.

Fishing for Reel is based in Central Florida, which means students who live outside of this area will either need to travel in to complete the in-person training modules or find a local instructor. The team can recommend instructors in other parts of the country.

These courses support those individuals who wish to protect their homes and loved ones responsibly. They give students the confidence they need to deal with unpredictable situations that may arise at home, in the workplace, or anywhere else. Fishing for Reel advises individuals to check the requirements of their state before booking these courses.

Aside from the new courses, customers can still expect to find their favorite outdoor accessories for fishing, camping, and hiking on the website. This includes the 80L Outdoor Military Rucksacks Oxford Fabric Waterproof Tactical Backpack and a Combat Ready Stainless Steel Compass Pendant.

A company spokesperson said: “We’re changing things up at Fishing for Reel. We are not only going to offer fishing, camping, and hiking products, but now in addition to what we’ve offered in the past, we are adding survival and tactical products, as well as self-defense and home safety education along with gun and weapon education and training courses—we have something for everyone.”
