About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Firearm Handling Skills And Mindset Virtual Training Course For Women Launched

Pupwud.com launched a virtual training course to help women be more knowledgeable and confident handling firearms for personal safety and peace of mind, under the title "Ladies, Get Your Gun!"

Pupwud Training & Consulting, a firearms training and education company, launched a Beginner’s Level virtual course geared toward helping women become more familiar with gun handling and safety. Through its online platform, the company seeks to provide new and novice gun owners with resources and tools to encourage responsible and competent gun use.

The recently announced course aims to create a community-driven space where women can acquire basic knowledge about gun ownership and operation.

According to multiple surveys, approximately 40% of Americans either own a firearm or live in a home with someone who does. While 20% of women in general report feeling safer with a gun in the home, this number increases to 56% for women who personally own a gun.

“Our goal is to reach 1,000 ladies in the next 12 months to enhance their knowledge and confidence in using their handgun and taking control of their self-protection,” said Partner, Kelly Jordan.

Pupwud Training & Consulting recognizes the role that confidence plays in operating a handgun and offers guidance for those who are hesitant due to lack of reliable information or practice. Their approach is based on the principle that knowledge and practice build confidence. “No more handguns taken from the victim because she couldn’t pull the trigger,” said Kelly.

The company’s training course focuses on the particular concerns of women who might be considering a firearm for personal safety or to defend their families. Those curious about program details can join a live, no-cost introductory webinar, a women-only session during which participants may receive Safety Training, 3 Handgun Fundamentals Training, and 2 Laws that are relevant to handguns. There will also be expert answers to personal questions regarding firearm protection.

As part of their broader training, students will receive instruction on proper firearm safety, handgun basics, applicable legal considerations, and mindset training for gun owners.

Participants are also welcome to join a program-centered Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/LadiesGetYourGun

The group will feature additional conversations and community support surrounding course subjects such as accident protection for children and self-defense strategies against home invasions, handgun selection considerations for ladies, encouragement, and coaching.

With this latest announcement, Pupwud Training & Consulting continues its mission to promote safe, competent, and confident firearm use for protection and peace of mind.

A satisfied student said, “Pupwud worked with me and my husband to identify the ‘right’ gun for me. He went above and beyond to make sure I am prepared to take control and protect my family if that was needed.”
