About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Salesforce-ERP Integration Software, Real-Time CRM Data Synching App Updated

Commercient has announced updates to SYNC, its cloud-based ERP and CRM integration software.

The software company has updated its cloud-based software system to function more seamlessly with Salesforce and JobBOSS - an ERP used in the manufacturing industry.

More information can be found at https://www.commercient.com/sync/how-it-works

With this move, Commercient can now integrate a firm’s CRM with over 110 ERPs, either one-way or bi-directionally, giving their personnel and clients the option to communicate more strategically. The platform connects a company’s data using a pre-built solution without the use of mapping, scripting, ETL, or servers - lowering integration costs by up to 80%. The company’s solutions include ERPs such as: Sage, QuickBooks, Acumatica, Epicor, and SAP, among others.

The global ERP market is expected to expand at approximately 8% annually over the next several years, with the CRM market posting even higher yearly growth at 11%. While ERPs are typically used as back-office solutions to help enterprise-size organizations unify their business/communications functions, a CRM system can streamline interactions with current and prospective customers by automating and sharing data across sales, marketing, and customer service.

CRM-ERP integration is considered critical for enhancing the customer experience and boosting sales since it connects two distinct data systems into one, centralizing data and increasing organizational efficiency.

Commercient syncs ERP and CRM data in real-time, eliminating both repetitive manual data entry and the risk of human error or time-lapse inaccuracies. Teams are kept informed of simultaneous updates to their ERP and CRM systems using the Commercial SYNC data connectivity app.

This allows team members to view and operate off of the same data and reporting tools across the organization - streamlining processes and markedly improving customer-facing interactions. The Commercient SYNC app can be customized to fit the needs of any business - offering clients the chance to sync their data on any schedule from once a week up to real-time.

Accordingly, sales representatives can deliver superior customer service wherever they are because they have access to crucial information, including customer records, sales orders, invoices, payment history, and inventory availability.

On GetApp, one user remarked: “It was an all around great experience, very professional service and the sync was smooth. They also have a good after-sales service and always check in to make sure the sync is working properly.”
