About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Over 600 Graduate as Scientology Volunteer Ministers During Heritage month, Advancing a Movement of Hope in Africa

This week, Castle Kyalami played host to a monumental celebration of unity, empowerment, and humanitarian leadership. Over 600 individuals—leaders from across all sectors of society—graduated from a skills development programme offered by the Scientology Volunteer Ministers.

This week, in an event that will be etched into the hearts of many, Castle Kyalami played host to a monumental celebration of unity, empowerment, and humanitarian leadership. Over 600 individuals—leaders from across all sectors of society—graduated from a skills development programme offered by the Scientology Volunteer Ministers. This wasn’t just a graduation; it was the culmination of lives transformed, communities inspired, and a renewed commitment to creating lasting change throughout the African continent.

This epic event marked a historic milestone for the Volunteer Ministers program, now boasting an incredible number of more than 30,000 strong across South Africa. These new graduates represented a tapestry of society, including religious leaders, government officials, police officers, educators, and community advocates, all coming together with a shared vision: to uplift their communities and be a beacon of hope in a world often fraught with adversity.

What made this gathering even more profound was the sheer determination and dedication of those in attendance. Among them, a group of 30 pastors who had traveled over six hours from the Northern Cape, underscoring the unbreakable spirit of those committed to this humanitarian cause. Their journey was a testament to the transformative power of this program and the deep desire to carry its teachings into the farthest reaches of the nation.

These 600 graduates now join the ranks of thousands who have taken the step not only to better themselves but to extend a hand to others. As official Scientology Volunteer Ministers, their mission is one of service, sacrifice, and leadership. They are equipped with vital tools—solutions designed to empower individuals, uplift entire communities, and foster resilience in the face of life's toughest challenges. Armed with this knowledge, these leaders will now go forth into their communities, actively training others in the principles and using their new knowledge to improve conditions.

As the celebration unfolded, the room echoed with stories of courage, service, and dedication. Hundreds of graduates were called to the stage and honored with special commendations for their contributions. These volunteers have been at the forefront of bringing Scientology’s life-changing solutions to their communities, breaking barriers, healing divisions, and inspiring others to step into leadership roles of their own.

In one of the most emotional moments of the evening, Pastor Mzi Mlambo, a towering figure in South Africa’s interfaith movement, presented a framed acknowledgement to L. Ron Hubbard and the Volunteer Ministers. Pastor Mlambo, who has introduced Scientology’s technology to his entire interfaith forum, has trained hundreds of religious leaders in these groundbreaking techniques, impacting lives across countless congregations and communities and increasing his Church attendance. His presence at the ceremony, along with his group of 30 pastors who traveled tirelessly to witness this historic moment, was a powerful reminder of the far-reaching impact of the Volunteer Ministers program. The framed tribute was more than just a token of appreciation; it was a symbol of unity, collaboration, and the shared goal of a brighter future.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers are a growing force for good. From disaster relief to addressing everyday struggles, these volunteers bring practical help and real solutions to the people who need them most. They serve without boundaries, fueled by compassion and driven by a belief that every individual deserves the chance to lead a better life.

The celebration at Castle Kyalami was a defining moment—a moment where lives intertwined with a single purpose: to create lasting, positive change. As each graduate stepped forward to accept their place as a Scientology Volunteer Minister, they carried with them not just the knowledge of practical solutions but the hope of an empowered Africa.

As the sun set on this extraordinary evening, the graduates and their families left Castle Kyalami knowing that this was just the beginning. The future of Africa’s leadership is in the hands of those who choose to serve, and the Volunteer Ministers are leading the charge. With every skill they impart, every life they touch, and every community they uplift, they carry forward the legacy of empowerment that will shape generations to come.

“Together, we are building a future where knowledge is the antidote to despair, and unity is the foundation for lasting peace and prosperity,” said concluded Sandile Hlayisi, Chairperson of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers.
