About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Can China’s AutoCoder.cc Outshine Lovable and Redefine Vibe Coding?

AIGCode emerges from China’s tech elite with AutoCoder.cc — a revolutionary full-stack AI coding platform built from scratch, challenging industry norms and global competitors.

-- AIGCode, a tech startup founded in October 2023 by alumni of Tsinghua University and veterans from China’s tech giants, has officially launched its flagship product, AutoCoder.cc, into public beta. Quietly released on platforms like ProductHunt and Uneed, AutoCoder.cc has already sparked conversation in the “vibe coding” community by redefining the standards of intelligent software development.

AIGCode is led by CEO Wen Su, a Ph.D. from Tsinghua University and seasoned deep tech investor, and CTO Qiuwu Chen, who brings over a decade of AI and machine learning experience from Microsoft and other top Chinese firms. With over 90% of the team drawn from industry leaders like ByteDance, Alibaba, Tencent, and Microsoft, the startup has positioned itself as a force in AI-powered coding innovation.

Unlike competitors that rely on existing LLMs such as GPT-4 or Claude, AIGCode developed its own large language model from the ground up using a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) approach. This model powers AutoCoder.cc, a platform capable of turning a single sentence into a fully functional full-stack web application—frontend, backend, database, and business logic included.

“Most AI coding tools stop at completion or UI generation. AutoCoder.cc breaks the mold with Level 3 coding: intelligent, modular full-stack app creation,” said the AIGCode founding team.

From October 2023 through June 2024, AIGCode iterated through three major product versions and numerous minor releases, refining features, resolving early-stage challenges, and optimizing the user interface to support non-technical users. Major technological milestones include:

  • A custom LLM delivering GPT-3.5-like performance using just 400 million parameters and trained for only $1.5 million.
  • A node-tree-based software architecture, enabling modular generation across context, frontend, backend, and database layers.
  • Inverted indexing and multi-layered logic parsing that allow precise updates, intelligent component matching, and seamless changes based on natural language prompts.

An example use case: With a prompt like “build a pet management system,” AutoCoder.cc delivers a complete application within minutes—featuring a React or Vue frontend, an Express or Flask backend, and a MongoDB or MySQL database.

The product entered closed beta in May 2025, where it received hundreds of developer inquiries. Following its public beta release in July, AutoCoder.cc has attracted nearly 10,000 active users in its first week, signaling strong global interest.

Looking ahead, AIGCode plans to enhance AutoCoder.cc with:

  • A developer component-sharing platform for collaborative reuse and iteration.
  • Semantic indexing and recommendations to speed up builds.
  • One-click deployment integrations with AWS, Azure, and other cloud providers.

“Our mission is to democratize software development—to enable everyone, regardless of coding experience, to build production-grade applications with ease,” said CEO Wen Su.

AutoCoder.cc isn’t just a product—it’s a movement to lower the barrier to entry for software development worldwide, transforming how creators, entrepreneurs, and enterprises build digital tools.
