About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Virtu Wealth Academy: A High-Frequency Trading Giant

WONZ Technology Debuts at IFA: Innovative Solution for Sleep Problems, Wellness, and More

-- Virtu Financial, Inc., a high-frequency trading giant headquartered in New York, has been active in global capital markets since its listing on Nasdaq in 2015. The company’s founder, Vincent Viola, a former chairman of the New York Mercantile Exchange, is also the owner of the Florida Panthers hockey team. With its strong technological capabilities, Virtu had already ranked among the top five high-frequency trading firms in Europe by 2011.

Today, Virtu’s business footprint spans 36 countries and regions worldwide, covering more than 235 exchanges, markets, and over-the-counter platforms, including NYSE Euronext, Nasdaq, and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. As a designated market maker for the New York Stock Exchange and NYSE American, Virtu provides liquidity for more than 12,000 securities and financial instruments, making it an indispensable player in the market.

“Wealth Academy” Launches in Sweden

To further expand into the Nordic market and attract more institutional and individual investors, Virtu introduced the “Virtu Wealth Academy” series of events in Sweden in 2024, holding two sessions each year.

In January 2025, the first session of the “Wealth Academy” was successfully held in Sweden, with participating individual investors achieving returns of over 450%. Building on this success, Virtu plans to launch the second session in October 2025, with expected returns ranging from 450% to 600%. Preparations for the event are currently well underway.

Macroeconomic Environment and Investment Opportunities

It is worth noting that this program is not merely an investment education initiative but also a crucial opportunity to respond to global macroeconomic changes. On September 18, 2024, the Federal Reserve announced a sharp rate cut of 50 basis points—its first in four years—lowering the target rate range to 4.75%–5%.

Since March 2022, the United States had raised interest rates 11 consecutive times to curb inflation, keeping rates within the 5.25%–5.5% range as of July 2023. With this latest cut, the Fed’s shift in monetary policy is bound to trigger ripple effects on Sweden’s interest rates, which are closely tied to the U.S. dollar. Meanwhile, the implementation of “Trump Trade Policy 2.0” and the introduction of higher tariffs are also regarded as key variables affecting the Swedish market.

Analysts point out that at such a turning point, Virtu Wealth Academy is not only a platform for investors to learn and enhance their skills but also a frontline arena for capturing new opportunities in Sweden’s capital markets.

Virtu Financial is leveraging its market-making experience and technological advantages in global markets to accelerate its expansion into the Nordic region. With the second session of the Wealth Academy approaching, Swedish investors are set to embrace a noteworthy capital market practice opportunity against the backdrop of major macroeconomic shifts.
